It is amazing that education at the university level in Trinidad is free for all nationals. We need to encourage our government to do the same. Only an educated population can advance a nation.
So the government is to blame for people who were renting out three taxi plates, taking it back from the people they rented it to, since the government is trying to clean up the industry? Really? .
One problem that needs to be fixed is that there are for starters way too many taxis in this country for its size. It is over subscribed.
Why did the Tribune use that picture. Makes him look tired for the position. However, I wonder when we will rise up in this country and be free from the shackles of a position that only shows us still beholden to the colonists of Britain. And we say we independent? .
Agree with @sheeprunner though. Private conversations need to stay that way. The man has a right to tell whoever he wants to privately that he was appointed to be GG. Why this is such a fun for a ceremonial post that shackles us to a country that does not even respect us to place an embassy in our nation, is really beyond me.
Where to go WesternAIr. Fire back. I'll admit that I'm bias as this is my airline of choice for flying in the Bahamas. But that said, our governments needs to stop this thing of trying to out people in the House of Assembly based on what another government. Be mature. Sit at the table with the people you need to resolved issues with. Otherwise, what are we teaching our school children to do?
I'm sick and tired of these unions bringing their private negotiations into the public arena. This nonsense has to stop and our newspapers need to begin to take the lead in not reporting this foolishness. If there is an issue then go to the labour tribunal. That is where you resolve your issues. Not in the paper.
I'm sorry but i see no reason to applaud Mr. Davis for his so called greater percentage of women as he is just playing the political game. First, if he says the upper limit is 100% women candidates, is he saying that he will not be running if a better woman candidate presents for his seat. Does anyone really believe that? .
Further, he has ben in his party for years and never pushed for more women candidates. .
When he puts his talk to all then will applaud it. Until the, it is just political shenanigans as always.
So true. He is projecting not others what he himself always does. . I don't know why they publish anything he says in a newspaper. He just casques me to turn against unions and their antics.
He for 10 years was the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Dubai to establish relations, but never once fought to get visa free access travel for Bahamians. Now talking about what the FNM won't do. Cry shame on this nonsense. Besides, does he not follow the child who sits in the Oval Office and his childish antics to keep everyone out?
Here again Davis making a non issue and the BOC as well. If it is so call protocol, then why did the IAAF send her an invite as the BOC leader indicated. Shouldn't the IAAF have communicated its invite to the BOC for the minister. . All this protocol garbage being stirred up is really nonsense in this country. We need to learn to separate things.
