This is the fist editorial from the Tribune that really puzzles.
The arguments presented are really straw men.
Rather than speak to the issue of how you verify that a father is the father of a child, it raises a non issue of trying to say this is targeting Haitians. And then to mute it own argument, it talks about how because of sweethearting, the name of the father on the birth certificate may not even be the father.
Is that then even more reason for DNA testing?
This is one editorial that need to be edited. This one missed the mark big time.
> “We are not paying them upfront to > construct this,” he said. “We’re not > even paying them as the construction > proceeds. We’re giving them a one-time > payment and they have to pay for > everything else up to conclusion. Could someone please help me with this voodoo project? IT costs $90 million to build. The government only giving the company $9 million to build it. And the company is to build it out and then get paid later?
Seriousluy?
What nonsense is this going on?
And who was this tendered out to?
And under what administrations was the previous work that no one has heard of before done?
If this is not one of the most contradictory things I have ever read.
The Bahamas signs to day the King must apologies, and yet the Governor General, the PM, and the Leader of the Opposition all fly off to attend the coronation.
So when will the government ministers apply this to themselves and make sure their dependents are not covered by their government paid insurance policies? I have yet to hear about companies not having insurance policies that do not cover their dependents.
This government is just taking from people to make themselves fat.
So the fox is going to watch the hen house? Seriously? So the government, which is the one always being taken to court for abusing people human rights at the detention center, and do nothing MPs, are going to be the ones to be the human rights watchdogs. Wow!
May governments could stop using NIB as a slush fund and pay back what they owe and that can save the fund.
I'm tired of these lame no thinking politicians whose only solution to everything is to tax the life out of the politicians, while they take no responsibility to reign in their expenses and spending.
