I am beginning to wonder why in the world the Tribune keeps going to this man for input. His suggestion is to take public transportation. I wonder if he has ever taken public transportation in the Bahamas?
NIB is the biggest mafia scheme around. People put in their hard earned money in and they have to audacity to say it is going broke? Of course it is broke when people who don't put in anything can get money out, the government always taking the money to build all kinds of buildings and what are the returns?
Obviously the only reason the Minister is mentioning this is because they want to raise the amount people who putting in will have to put in, only to discover they will not get out what they even put in. Maybe we need to defund NIB.
As regards MPs living in a constituency in order to represent it, could not agree more. Long overdue. Which is why you can have a PM living in western Nassau and never do a thing for the Cat Island constituency he represents because he does not live there and does not understand the people.
Politicians always have higher standards for others and not themselves. To be in local government, you have to live in your constituency. To be PM no retirement age, but all other civil servants have a retirement age.
Agree, that it is time to take our heads out of the sand and demand more of politicians and that they follow the line just like everyone else.
Why come to the public if you not trying to slam NGOs? Why talk about the salaries and the administrative percentages? If Davis really wanted information, why not pick up the phone and call Larson and say I heard you have information, please send it to us.
It is tragic how we have people who sit in positions in government and reduce it to their small mindedness.
So rather than the government reduce taxes, the PM tries to hamstring private companies to reduce their prices. And then comes out with a lame announcement about he got ONE company shipping from the Far East to reduce price on their containers. When is the reduction in government expenditure and taxes be announced as the government doing putting skin in the game to reduce inflation by its part?
How about the government do away with all these consultant contracts and let civil servants earn their pay as a means of reducing expenditure? How about all these ambassadors they named the other day be done away with and cabinet ministers do the job they paid to do, as a way to reduce expenditures? How about we cut the size of the gussiemae cabinet?

You don't know when you visited, not sure who you saw, and then talk about have our experts look at the case? To do what? Our experts cannot deal with crime in our own country how the heck they will do it for others? Unbelievable!
Foreigners can take over crown land that is "supposed" to belong to Bahamians and nothing happens. Bahamians seek to assert a claim over what is "supposed"to be their crown land and the government talks about cease and desist, and suing.
Reality: Bahamians are second class citizens in their own country.

Rather than trying to strong arm the private sector, why doesn't the government strong arm itself and reduce taxes and expenditure?
