good god this guy is clueless. he is saying procedures should be in place - they are in place, it is when they arent followed that its a problem. more than that though, he asked about bahamians being embarrassed by being asked to show proof of citizenship (a licence is not proof of citizenship in case he didnt know). The larger and main issue with bahamians is not embarrassment - it is illegal for it to be done to them by the government. does this guy, along with the government know the laws of this country or even care about those laws?
notice the press has not done one single bit of investigation into any of this though it has been known for some time now - i wonder why. nothing of actual significance gets investigated in this country by the media, just useless banter that makes headlines
no official has the legal right to demand that a bahamian prove that he or she is a bahamian on random stops, roadblocks or such activities. bahamians are free to move about in their own country. the government is breaking the law and violating the rights of bahamians if it tries to insist they must carry a passport or birth certificate with them at all times to prove they are bahamian in their own country. immigration officers have no jurisdiction over bahamians in this respect. stop violating our rights is what bahamians need to demand

christie keeps making the "us vs them" statement when discussing the country and its social problems. seems he doesn't realize how he keeps revealing his truly elitist mentality every time he does this

there is no law to quote because such a thing is illegal if demanded of bahamians moving about freely in their own country.
