What are you talking about zero tax? Companies here pay a ton of tax. They have to pay it on revenue and not profits (like every major economy in the world) which more often than not results in a higher cost than taxing profit. Income tax is zero and will remain zero for a long time because then politicians would be forced to file returns based on their income.
Having a proper, profit based corporate tax would be a huge boost to the country.
The hotels don't care about our politicians or government. They have been through enough of them to know they are all the same. The reason they are delaying is because they do not have the required interest to get the level of bookings to where they need to be to open. It costs less money to stay closed than it costs to open with very low occupancy. This is purely a cash flow decision, not a statement about our government.
Who has all of these deep cleaning contracts? It's been proven for a long time now that they are useless. The virus is transferred through droplets in the air. Every government office now has been shut down for "deep cleaning" that does nothing to help. All the workers sit home and do even less than usual and everyone who is trying to get anything done by the government just has to wait even longer than usual. Meanwhile some company is racking up the charges.
People want to compare the two without realizing just how bad one is. There are plenty of things about the US to complain about, but there are also tons of good things. I can't think of any good things from the Chinese system, only issues.
Did Minnis and D'Aguilar get on the plane and spend 72 hours in Florida with no test? People have personal responsibility, you can't just blame everything on 'the government'.

The botched opening was not because of tourists, it was because of Bahamians.
And why do all the other hotels have to wait to open till Bahamar decides to open?
