That's what it comes down to. I've been on these comment threads for a long time now, and I have pushed reasoned arguments whenever I can, but in the face of the ridiculousness of this whole referendum and the crazy conspiracies that are being pushed, there is no room for reason. How am I supposed to debate reason when none is offered in return?
It is 2016 and we are actually having a vote to determine if the rights of women, should equal the rights of men, as women are currently constitutionally less than men. Do people not see the insanity of this? It is a fact that men and women should have equal rights and be treated equally under the law, and should have that right protected. It is a fundamental basis of human rights. When are we going to get it through our collective mind that we are all part of this global world and we have to move forward together. If we actually choose to take steps backwards, then we are making a loud and clear statement that we want no part in progress and we want no part in advancing with the rest of society.
The retorts to such arguments are 'gay agenda', 'illegals ruining the country', 'vote no to vote against the PLP', and on and on. They are straw men arguments that detract from the issue and mask the true intent of a no vote, to maintain a status quo of ignorance and bigotry.
You're failure to provide any substantiating evidence tends to poke holes in your argument. Simply repeating what you have previously said does not make it a fact.
The private schools in this country are not subsidized by Bahamian taxes, and they are not given subsidized scholarships.
The don't return because their is nothing here for them. Why should they come back and suffer because no one in the country gives cares about where it's headed.
They have succeeded despite the best efforts of our system to keep them dumb and ignorant. They should run as fast and as far away as they can so as not to be pulled back down by the other crabs.
The Chinese Bank is already in possession of the property. This went through the courts last fall. That's why they appointed receivers. The government started screwed themselves a long time ago and now it just continues.
What the hell are you talking about? Economist has no mention of race, and you have to bring that into it!
The No vote is a vote to stay behind while the rest of the world and society advances. It is a vote saying that we as Bahamians, do not believe everyone is equal.
Well every damn dollar in this country goes out then. We have more than a 95% trade deficit. Saying that the tourism money is leaving has nothing to do with the money coming from tourism. What you said serves absolutely no purpose and is just logically stupid.
