What a joke. Why the hell are the cops harassing tourists for? The amount of time and money they spent on arresting these people and bringing them before the magistrate is so much more than what their fines were. Spend that money on solving all of the open murder cases.
Forget just medical use, lets get on with legalizing and taxing it. We can make some money from marijuana instead of spending incredible amounts on police, courts, and jails. Police can use the time and resources to catch violent criminals. Legalizing it mean that gangs no longer have control over the market weakening them. Lets get on with it. The rest of the world is moving in this direction. Are we going to lead or follow?
Are you kidding? Lightbourne owes Bahamians, you and I and everyone, over $100,000. That's our money he has, and then the Prime Minister, who is supposed to represent all Bahamians decides to do this man a personal favour by trying to use his position to influence the bank, which in any real democracy is considered corrupt.
Only in the Bahamas is this considered acceptable by some people.
Just another example of the fiscal irresponsibility from our leaders. We're a broke country but our leaders seem to think that borrowing another $232m will be just fine.
The WTO will spell the end for any local manufacturing. We simply cannot compete globally. The idea that we have 'trading partners' is a farce. We are a buyer and other countries are sellers. It's not a partnership, they don't buy anything from us.
The manufacturing jobs in this country, while limited in numbers, are good jobs, with steady pay cheques and from low to high skill. These jobs will all be lost.

The governments math never seems to add up. Why not just release their method for coming up with these tax rates and let people have a look at them.

Even if it's not taxed, right now it's costing us tens of millions. We need to stop spending money on it.
And our slowest politicians are basically standing still. So I don't have much faith that anything will actually change.

Drones are way cheaper, provide far better coverage at far lower operating costs, while actually modernizing the RBDF.
Why are we so behind the times in terms of technology?

I'm pretty sure the door to dishonesty was wide open well before this new policy.

The integrity of the banking system was never in question. It is the integrity of the Prime Minister's Office that is in question.
