Rather than wait for Govt regulation ( translation: prohibition or restriction of online sales), merchants should research the shipping costs of the products they sell and see what they can do to compete.

For years now, I try to compare local prices vs courier shipping and get locally if appropriate.

I compared this free Amazon shipping plus taxes and duties against the invoice from my courier. There is no significant difference because it appears a processing cost similar to the couriers fee is added.

I will stick with the courier for now.

Supplements and food items are not being shipped.

I will call DHL to see how to get the product.
I looked at some clothing and tried to estimate the customs fees. It seems to me they charge the VAT duty and the ten dollars processing fee on small package.

As my courier charges this only on packages over ten pounds, the customs fees were about the same my courier would charge on a fifty dollars item of clothing.

in the long term, a mortgage will always be cheaper than a rent.

but , with today's prices, that is moot because even the cheaper mortgage is unaffordable.

Take his friend, for example, can he get a mortgage for less than 1,100? I doubt it.

the problem of going vertically for low income housing is bahamian's nasty habit of not paying maintenance fees so the buildings are at risk of falling into disrepair and the buyers are at increased risk of losing their investment. all buyers, both who pay pay the fees and the freeloaders.

the legal system is too slow in dealing with delinquents.

people will goto court and fight for years because of mismatched windows and car wrecks in the parking lot.

People complain about couriers, but the major portion of their bills go to govt duties and vat, even vat on the duties and processing fees.
You also pay by the volume instead of weight, so if you place a feather in a shoebox , you pay more if you place it in an envelope.

When I enter the store, I ask if the machine is working, if it is not, I leave without wasting time.

But yesterday I wanted to break up a 100 dollar bill by purchasing a small item. Two places had not change for a 100 dollar bill. Had to got to a food store to get that.
