I once could have been a casualty of the banks. I continued to make payments in excess of what I should have. In the end, I got my money back.
Unsophisticated borrowers stop paying when they are unsatisfied, let the late fees pile up then they have no redress. I got a lawyer, my loan was finished, they owed me money.

However, I do find fault with folkswho think banks are predators, but the payday loan folks are not, the insurance companies are not, the webshops are not.

We are chickens for plucking.

Predatory.

I will tell you about predators:

BPL is a predator
Banks who expect people to pay back loans are predators.
Landlords are predators.
Food stores are predators.

It is deeply ingrained in our society. From doctors, lawyers, politicians, especially politicians, everybody wants things fior free,

37 dollars a week? 5 dollars a day?

It is ridiculous.

There are a few bahamians who speak foreign languages. They just come home to teach or hold some civil servant jobs.

I know an european woman on the internet who speaks several languages and is a computer programmer. She has lived all over the world.

She looked up some offering in the Bahamas. Then when to wikipedia and other online sources. She then emailed me to say she found that 'the population was mostly hatian' and that Freeport 'was in shambles'.

She would not even consider such a job, if she can work remotely, she will likely do it from Sydney or London.

That is ingenuity.

Can someone "splain" to me how they could tax a fast food place?

I can go to any number of places that are NOT fast food chain and buy chicken in the bag, crack conch and fries. Many also sell hamburgers. It will be a boom to their business.
