if you buy the part from the local honda dealership , yes it will cost an arm or a leg.
however, there are reputable smaller businesses that sell equivalent parts which are very good.
the key is a good garage, the mechanics will either get the part for you or tell you who to get it from. Often you can use a part made for american models on a japanese vehicle.
my nissan is 18 years old, bought used from japan and still in excellent condition. have never had a problem with parts.
she had a good ride. nice salary, a mansion rented, hotel stay during hurricane, all she had to do was dress in expensive suits, high heels and talk crap,
talking crap, that is usually what these economists. accountants and other business types do. only works because they are well dressed.
if you get one of those science types in tie dye shirts and birkenstocks no one takes them seriously, but they know how to run places better.
just as another anecdote, I was asked to deliver some printed documents to a webshop when I visited Abaco.
It was the first time I entered a webshop--i do not gamble. There were many computers but all were occupied with customers and there was a line of 5 or 6 people before the cashier.
The security guard was concerned and said he would accommodate me as soon as possible, not wanting me to leave, so the reception and customer service were good.
I felt sad tho that on friday, when those people likely were just paid, they were gambling before going home.
not to mention that: 1. reliable electricity is not available to the citizens, whomever they are 2. sense of immigration security is not readily available to foreign spouses of bahamians or to the children born of bahamian women married to foreign men. These wait much more that 9-12 months and even have difficulty receiving services that their taxes pay for.

i know of two people who got grants and were supposed to work for govt upon return.
they reported to the public service commission and received letters that they could not be placed. repeated letters.
one of them went to work in the US, one has to make a living.
