I buy some things off brand, if it does not make any difference.
cheap evaporated milk and island condensed milk, I do not buy because they reconstitute powedered milk with yucky vegetable oil and it separates.
So i look at the fine print, and choose the milk product.
Powdered detergent and bleach too, no need to buy brand name.
But all vegetable oils is bad, why buy brand name? I have yet to see off brand corn oil, otherwise i would buy it. truth be told, i even suspect that there is no difference between soy oil, corn oil or even olive oil.
I buy different rice also, but test to see if it is plastic.
But the point is that the increse in price is across the board, so , even if i buy a cheaper product, my bill still going up.
Well, I am sure the jumps on single items happen all the time. But people simply stop buying it, and then the items go on sale-- I watch carefully what interests me.
OK flour cost 3.39 vat free in December. Then they put it on sale to deplete old stock for a number of months about 3.59 plus VAT. Now the new stock goes for 5.79 plus VAT.
I only buy what is reasonable. Now that lamp chops go for nearly 8 dollars, I just do not buy them.
I like Sauers mayonnaise because it tastes the same as my homemade mayonnaise. That went from 2.99 to 4.39. But I found it reduced to 2.99 because no one bought it.
There is also cost shifting. If they cannot charge extra for the milk, they divide the extra between the pancake mix and the syrup. Gotcha. But not me, I make my own pancake and my own syrup.

LOL. That a bahamian thang.
I was at the receiving end of a similar instruction at one point. While being victimized.
The reason HR says that is because they want to reserve the right to do the same to those leftover.
If the colleagues had spoken to me, I wouldhave told them: Watch out, you are next. But they took it to heart and would not even say good day.
Yep, they were next.

These annual uniforms are a racket.
In my time, the dressmaker made uniforms to last 3 years. How?
With sufficient fabric in the seams to let out as we grew. We are talking like 2 inch side seams and 4 inch hems.
