This U.S. election represents the worst choice the country has ever had to make in choosing the next president. I would be hard pressed to vote for either of them.
Mrs. Carey has no biological children and Philippa is connected to her through her late husband Philip .She had moved to Bimini for employment and had subsequently placed Mrs. Carey in the care of Mrs. Knowles
Disgraceful and arrogant PLP ! Are people in the Family Islands smaller, shorter and less deserving than those in New Providence? Just as the U.S. sends its 2nd grade products to the Bahamas and Caribbean, is the PLP government treating Family Islanders the same?
I am a dog lover myself and it is truly a sad incident, which may have had a different outcome if the dog's owner had taken a more responsible position in this situation. An unleashed pitbull was advancing toward the officer and the owner said that she was trying to grab him back when he was shot. This suggested to me that he was approaching in an aggressive manner and we all now how difficult it is to stop a pitbull attack. Why did she not either put her dog away or put it on a leash before she opened her door?
A sad case indeed, but six children and no mention of a father or fathers and typical reporters not even asking the question? Many well paid professionals would be struggling with six children. I sincerely hope she gets some relief in her dire situation.
Another one again! Just by looking at The Tribune online front page i was able to correctly predict another Ortland Bodie authored letter. My only suggestion to him is that he should end his letters with ," as in all things, to the PLP be the glory."
I think the criticism leveled at Culmer is rooted is bias. I think he explained what he went through lucidly and it was obviously done to try and project an atmosphere of party unity. Having not done so would have only made matters worse for the FNM. The article did its purpose to show the type of person that Minnis became when he got more powerful. We all know of many instances when Minnis believed he needed nobody besides someone who would tell him how great he was. Just how Culmer spoke of when he knew of the early election call,a cabinet minister at the time told Minnis that he heard that a lockdown would soon be inforced,to which he responded in denial, but two hours later he was on ZNS announcing an immediate country wide lockdown.
Dr. Minnis was given a chance ,but his leadership had failed miserably. It was obvious to all and sundry that a mistake was made, from the time of Loretta Butler and onwards. He was shown to be one who could not think on his feet, hence no more press conferences as they they almost always were an embarrassment for him.I sincerely believe that he did not take on the minister of finance portfolio because he could not handle it. The icing on the cake was when he called an early election ,because it showed how out of touch he was,as it was quite obvious to everyone besides himself that the F.N.M. was in for a serious cut ass, though i did not think it would have been as bad as it was. When he spoke of "during our next term in office", i used to tell my friends that i could just see him opening the office door in his white coat ,clipboard in hand shouting,"Next!"
