As a former cyclist, this has concerned me for some time. Our motorists are not generally very attentive, and lone cyclists can get too comfortable on these streets. Before sunrise the other morning I pulled out of my community and almost T-boned a cyclist passing with no lights, not even reflective clothing. Also something should be done about them utilizing JFK and TWD for group cycling, its too dangerous with our local driver base.
How tragic. Our lives can be turned upside down with a passing thunderstorm. Take comfort in the life you had together Mrs. Sweeting, and see him in the faces of your children. My deepest sympathies.
I agree. The challenge is in an ignorant populace that seemingly struggles to observe basic protocols for abatement of spread... recall that lockdowns were not the first option...
So, will the government finally use this opportunity to do what needs to be done, or will they kick the can down the road for another 5 years? Shut the airline down. Subsidize worthy local airlines for domestic routes, reopen the flag carrier for international flights only, homogeneous fleet, simplified route, supplement tourist travel ourselves as opposed to laying prostrate before Delta.
So how is it that the police can "decline to give details of the escape?" Will the details of their screwup affect some ongoing intelligence operation elsewhere? I think not. We are the public, they work FOR us, we pay their salaries, they are accountable to US.
Wow, an insightful, research and data driven article..... I could get used to this! no echoing of what "da Minister also said....". You know those people who wander outside giggling during the eye of the hurricane, against the advice of sober folk? They're the ones screaming for help once caught in the storm having strayed just a bit too far from home.....human nature spans a spectrum.
Bro talk what you know(or didn't) Emerg Order 2 was leaked 23rd march, flights continued unabated through Friday 27th.... check the flight records lest you feel misled. We had 2 WestJet options, elected to remain at Uni...anyone affected shouldv'e been hella engaged with breaking news , regional trends, and developments, stop defending lassitude.
The challenge is the majority of the population has eschewed even the most basic evaluation of the systems and challenges in their environment. Anything that involves taking up a book or even a monthly magazine on a topic is shunned. They feed on sensational talk, folly even. This is why there is no pressure for community involvement. Only the most base clamor for empty stomachs to be filled. Why isn't every Primary school child apprised of rights and duties under the law? Why does some policeman who barely escaped high school know more about the law after 6 weeks of "college" than the average citizen? The political aspirants want an easy road...
