Anyone else remember the Pindling days? Sure as sh&t didn’t speak your mind publicly if it opposed him. Do we really want that crap again? How difficult is it to take away emergency powers and still protect Bahamians from covid which has a mortality rate around that of the flu ?.... what, is the government we currently have employed too lazy to meet more frequently if needed and come to a consensus on the next moves for this mess. If the other MPs aren’t doing anything I trust we aren’t paying them more than 25% of their salary (seriously!) during this BS game the competent authority is playing while his freedoms of course are completely in tact. Come on!!?!
The FnM MPs musseee can’t be bothered to show up to discuss anything - too afraid or stupid to see and acknowledge the precedent being set. Are y’all hoping for full on civil unrest or something?
Please MPs, AG, Governor please !!! get this power drunk PM in check- are there any honest men in parliament?
We the Bahamian people hereby challenge the honourable PM to relinquish his emergency powers voluntarily no later than December 31st 2020 and prove that it truly is Better in the Bahamas!
With all due respect - Government of Bahamas please stop your crap! Let people live their lives and give back their freedoms. We need to be able to travel inter island relatively easily (its more for the test than the ticket plus the damn quarantine), we need to be able to stay out past f’ing curfew to see family, friends, to shop, to LIVE. Children are being negatively affected in a huge way. Enough is enough - stand up and think. Protect the elderly or have them under curfew if you dare! Stand guard at the f’ing beach’s if you have to but otherwise STOP trying to be royalty and behave like representatives working for the Bahamian people not parenting them.
As far as we the public are aware there is no true accountability in law for our elected officials. The wealthy few pull the strings - kick backs are probably rampant and no politicians spend time locked up because the laws either aren’t there, aren’t enforced, or there are loop holes. Are there any campaign finance laws, anyone keeping track of politicians wealth building while in power, what about their foreign accounts and assets, what about the MP’s doing their jobs on the same side of the aisle or have they given up having their own opinions heard and acted upon. Do they get a Christmas bonus for keeping quiet? Also not one public renewable energy plant on New Providence yet and we are supporting fossil fuel exploration in 2020- not very forward thinking . “When I analyze the stench..” (Bob).
Please- just flattening the curve until when- when you have an island of upper class and severely impoverished due to economic lockdowns- the curve will play out and the end result may be close to the same...
Very Sad and stupid- why close the beaches - resentment for this government must be at an all time high! But of course like every prior Bahamas Government they don’t give a crap what the population thinks or wants. The population is looked upon as children or patients I appears...!
open the country completely and promise in writing not to close it in any way again! sweden - a country which never restricted anything, is doing better than the rest of the world with this!
The numbers of infected are far higher than reported, the narrative of an October wave is world wide and not completely substantiated as it is deduced from elevated testing volumes. Absolutely no action by the government will stop COVID in Nassau at this point - Government restrictions of any type will further kill the economy and people as a result- let the economy run if there is anything left of it! And free the people of this control crap - open the beaches! Instant testing, open tourism entirely! Seriously!.
