You never seen two jitneys gang up on a car? I have, multiple times. I say there may be some good drivers but most are thugs with no respect for law or safety...
The national plan should most definitely not include jitney buses. Time for a new, safe and reliable public transport plan. Get rid of criminal jitney drivers once and for all..
Never agreed with Kwasi before but he is correct. The lockdown most definitely worked. I don't think Nassau is even close to being under control though and doubtful it will be in a week. I suggest minnis stick to his guns if cases don't subside by next week though. Aint like he has to worry about losing next election anymore, that's pretty much assured, he will lose. Might as well do the neccessary...
Exercise is permitted from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. in a person’s neighborhood, except for Grand Bahama which will be limited to 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Exercising in one’s yard is permissible at any time.
Then when the lockdown is lifted and we STILL have no economy what? I read the guy leading this owns a car rental company? What is he expecting when lockdowns are lifted? No shipyard, no cruise ships, no tourism. Who he think he ga rent cars too?
What we should be concentrating on is how are we going to support ourselves in a depressed economy after lockdown...
Opening up is not going to result in a booming economy.
Let's all deal with reality, we are going to be in economic turmoil until this virus has been defeated. Even then we may still have severe problems thanks to the moronic anti vaccine conspiracy theories being spread on facebook and other social media sites. Unless most people agree to take the vaccine we will never get back to normal.
Please no replies about the dangers of vaccines. People who get their information off facebook are the most missinformed human beings on the planet...
If Bahamians don't start cooperating, stay home if you don't need to go anywhere, wear a mask properly when you do have to go out and keep your distance. This lockdown would be shortened and we'd be able to open up again. But keep in mind when we do open nothing much is going to change in terms of the economy. There will still be no tourism, no FDI, not much of anything. So no idea what you anti-lockdown folks think will happen but we will not see a normal economy until a vaccine is developed or we find another way to thrive that does not include tourism.
What are you people thinking? You honestly believe we'll see an economic boom right now if we open up??
Everyone needs to keep one thing in mind.....
this is 100% temporary. Life will go back to normal once we have an affective vaccine. Just like it did after the 1918 pandemic....
When will the FNM wake up? Minnis was the worst opposition leader in our independent history now he is the worst PM of all time, yes even worse than perry.
Time for the FNM to show loyalty to country and get rid of minnis the empty suit....
So who are you willing to sacrifice Amused? Your parents? Siblings? Cousins? And who said anything about forever? The only effective way to slow the spread is lockdowns and wearing masks. Of course it won't be permanent. And if Bahamians would wear their masks properly we'd see the reduction start alot faster...
Is lying covered by free speech? All the christian right ever does is lie. How do you work with people that do nothing but lie? Conservatives lie. Period. Full stop.
Or some just look at the numbers. As I said in my post I see more activity now than the first one. So I don't think people are taking it as seriously as they should this time...
