If you pay say $200 per gun, folks will turn them in. Mommas will turn in their sons weapons for $200, saving lives and enforcement dollars far exceeding the $200 payment.
Yes do all of those positive things you reference but don't fool yourself, guns are the problem. Just look North to the US to see the insanity and death that guns bring to society. Yes sticks, knives and cars can kill as well but the gun call kill many in the blink of an eye and does daily in the US. The Bahamas is wise to maintain a no gun policy and should even pay a fee to anyone handing in a gun to avoid falling into the gun insanity that is the US.
Relax ... the big bad America is not going to beat up the Bahamas .... It's a flag honoring a particular group of people who have been bullied by real "downlow" bullies.
This Bahamian respects all of God's, whichever God you worship, children.
Sorry Doc but a good Prime Minister needs to be capable of focusing on both.
What the Bahamas really needs is a female Prime Minister. Woman are far superior at mulit-tasking. Bahamian men are easily distracted which results in confusion.
I am glad to see we have at least one sensible Christian commenting here. The Haitian people come to the Bahamas for a better life for themselves and their families similar to when many Bahamians migrated to the States. These people do the work many Bahamians find beneath them.
