Sue Equinor's facility in Grand Bahama for the environmental cause by the hurricane dorian. That company is worth billions. Apply the billions won to the national depth. The principals of that company are looking at us as a third world country who they can just run over and destroy the environment and get away with.

Going forward every new critical infrastructure built on this chain of islands should be elevated 30 feet minimum above sea level. That includes Airports, Power stations, Hospitals, clinics, water pumping stations, important government offices and the like. Have you readers ever wondered why the Americans bought the highest land in Nassau city and are building their new Embassy on the highest point in downtown Nassau ? Do you think they know something that we don't .? hint hint they have many supercomputers In their universities and they have ran simulations on what climate change will do to year by year going forward. Dorian was a baby compared to their results.

The liquidation list in the Bahamas financial services industry continues with Pacifico Global Advisors now being added to the list including Caledonia Corporate Management, Owen Bethel’s Montaque Capital Partners,Tillerman Securities, Gibraltar Global and least we forget the infamous **Golf Union Bank** and **Clico** from the insurance sector.
Not good for this country reputation, I wonder what the liquidation rate is in Cayman and Bemuda

Canadian Banks are divesting themselves of their caribbean subsidiaries because its all about declining profit margins and the never ending legislative changes required by the likes of the FFATF and the OECD, is not helping the situation. This coupled with the fact that the entire caribbean central America area is ground zero with the effects of change. The possibility of Cat 5 hhurricanes like Dorian wrecking the economies of one or more caribbean island state is a real possibility every year. This will result in stagnant to negative GDP growth rates in most countries in this hemisphere and continued losses for the Canadian banks and they have realized this long ago
Colombia’s GNB Financial Group is doing what any prudent investor would do and that is to spread their investment portfolio as far and wide as possible and because It is easier to get into the Caribbean which does not have the very strict requirements and scrutiny for entry as would be the case for entry into the United states banking market.

Mr: Potter ….make sure your oil rig has the latest **Blowout preventer** technology in use in the world today. We need to avoid the Deep water Horizon 2010 oil spill that took place in the gulf of Mexico from possibly happening in the Bahamas..

Good move ...The widespread contamination of Grand Bahama industrial areas should serve as negative case study and not be allowed to be repeated in other pristine areas of the country.

These two former Prime ministers can take a page out of former US president Jimmy Carter book and start a home rebuilding foundation for Hurricane victims. They can lead that effort and help by holding Hammer, Nails, shovels in their hands and getting dirty doing construction work. like jimmy carter's work project "Habitat for Humanity" https://www.habitat.org/volunteer/build… Just keep them both far from the cookie jar. Let them use their international contacts to raise the funds.

.Weather it was an spill or leak is water under the bridge. It shows that no amount of pre environmental studies can predict catastrophic results. For the goverment to agree to place Oban on Grand Bahama or anywhere in the Bahamas would be like setting this country up for an environment disaster combined with a natural disaster when ever the next hurricane comes along with Oban in place.Dorian was a warning. The disaster at sorth riding point was a small example that can be multiplied with an Oban installation. The government should tell the Oban principles that they are not welcome in the Bahamas. They donnot want Oban in their own country.do not let them take Bahamians for fools.Listen to the envionmentalist. Donnot let the money hungry principles place an Oban ticking time bomb in the Bahamas for the greed of a few people.Mother nature sent us a signal with hurricane Dorian, The Bahamas is in hurricane alley. Cat 5 are becoming more normal. We as humans have a 20 year window to reverse the amount of carbon dioxide we are placing in the atmosphere. we are above the 405.0 PPM today double what it was from the 1960's .Mother nature will reach the tipping point of no return around 2050..Our children and grand children will may not have islands to live on. The Bahamas may very well cease to exist as a country. While the Bahamas on a global level is not responsible for this because we are a small country with a small economy, we can become an example to the world by switching to the green economy..Oban is a step backwards, Make the likes of Peter Krieger and Satpal Dhunna, Oban Energies’ persona non grata in the Bahamas. They can only come here as tourist.Take heed Governments now and in the future, all proposed investments are not suited for these islands. Mother nature is speaking to us with the increase in Hurricaine's Take heed or watch human suffering multiply around the world as it has begun in the Bahamas and many other countries.
