BPL seams to have a policy of only installing solar systems in the family islands, the reason being not enough land in New providence for such an installation, but i beg to differ and say that there is enough crown land in the area of the blue hills power station to accommodate a 80MW solar power generation installation....it takes the will to make it happen.
The Government acquired the phill's building for the post office by compulsory acquisition.... which is the power of government to acquire private rights in land without the willing consent of its owner or occupant in order to benefit society. This power is often necessary for social and economic development and the protection of the natural environment.....it is my opinion that no money was involved.and gov just took the building.
Anyone notice how Birdiestrachan and Tairussell conspicuously absent from commenting on this article ???????? ....PLP political hacks all silent and shame.
Seize all of the delinquent loan properties no matter who the owners are. Politically connected family or not. If you delinquent you delinquent. The banks take the small man home's every day. The political ride over. The Gravy train has come to an end. Face the music just like the small man. Its people like these croonies that have the national depth at over seven billion .....the leaching of BOB has come to an end .....They are the reason for the VAT increase
Who cares about this "closed end mutual fund" that has not payed a dividend in many years. There is always the excuse about the properties it owns not being fully rented..
NIB's high administrative cost along with the politicians using the organization as a piggy bank for gov projects, contracts and as an employment agency for friends and family is the reason for the crisis. The ILO and the IMF has issued many warnings to past administrations that this would be the result. . Whats the use having an investment committee if political interference is the order of the day.
Nothing has been said about the new Carnival cruise port in east grand Bahama by this new government.GB needs to market her strength such as eco tourism. and the port authority should play a more active part.
All BPL employees accepting the VSEP's should use their funds wisely and invest in financial products with long term yields eg: Stocks, Bonds ,Mutual funds and CD's ...Seek financial advise form reputable firms. Resist the urge to splurge of shopping trips to florida, gambling, and beware of friends who appear suddenly out of no where, because "a fool and his money are soon parted" Proverbs 21-20 .
