Britain knows that oil is in the Bahamas, thats why they are reopening their mission in the Bahamas. Britain may not need us as a country, but she has some citizens who control Bahamas Petroleum company and they hoping to strike oil in the Bahamas so that the continued plundering of our resources can continue, even after 44 years of independence from England. Wake up Bahamians the share holders of BPC will be laughing all the way to the Bank soon, while we worry about the Queen and Prince Charles (see Link) https://www.bpcplc.com/investors/major-…

The existing plant at clifton pier will be upgraded to accomodate LNG. This will not be new rocket science, this has already been done in Jamaica and is already in the signed agreement. There will be no need for a parallel run with clifton's present equipment.

LNG at this time is not the perfect solution but it surly is a big step in the right direction. Think of the lower cost of electricity for all ....savings that can be spent otherwise by consumers in 18 months. The size and specifications for a solar renewable powerplant able to generate in over 250 megawatts of power for an island the size of Nassau would require thousands of acres of barren land, rooftop's or parking lots for such a installation ...with the advancement of technology in the renewable arena, the Bahamas can scale a renewable energy infrastructure using many sources in the near future but we haved creeped along with fossil fuels for decades , we are going to walk with LNG and we will run with renewables in the future as those technologies matures .....I commend the government the government for taking this next step with the projected cost being only 100 million dollars.

The Chinese are the modern day plunderers in many countries around the world. They have replaced the colonial European powers and are sapping the resources of scores of african, carribean and south american countries under the guise of developments with cheap loans that have payback stipulations at the united nations. The only diffidence between them and the colonial European powers is that they have the cheap labour component to achieve their objectives by stealth for the home land. Governments and citizens world wide in developing countries would do well to increase awareness to the rising dragon from the east and her philosophical belief and intentions for smaller countries

@Ashley14 .....exactly , Democracy is not perfect ...but its the best political system the world has. Thats why western countries are know as the free world. The average Bahamain can only imagine the horror the people syria and countries like North Korea go through daily. We have never lived through war I support trumps actions in syria 100%. because there will be escalated consequences every time chemical weapons are used in the future..

@Sheeprunner12 .....i agree with your statement, thats why i said there are proxy ways to achieve those types of objectives.....eg the use and supporting of rebel forces and opposition froces in various countries. Assad is a dictator who should be removed but America does not want to be in the that country for decades like how they are stuck in Afganistan, The middle east has cost America two trillion dollars over the last decade. Trumps prioties these days is to build america infastructure because china is leaving the USA behind when is comes to Infastructure
