What a bunch of stupidity! So if they had asked earlier, the request would have been approved?! Someone please explain to Mr. Strachan that these things are not meant to be manhandled up and down the streets of Nassau. How could he even consider such a request? No! No! No! I suggest someone use a digital camera to take detailed photos of the antique muskets and then have the best woodcarver from the Bay Street market create lookalikes. The chairman is in the wrong business if he thought that was a good idea. Can you imagine one of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren 'borrowing' the crown jewels because they wanted to wear them to a club? Same idea; national treasures are not party personal party favours.
Yes, I noticed this stupid remark right away. You should read the article in yesterday's other daily newspaper (offices in Oakesfield) where the PM states that he goes into every home in his constituency and knows who votes FNM or PLP. A vote is supposed to be secret; he can assume, but even then how someone's votes is no one's business. He is supposed to be the PM of the Bahamas not the PM of PLP supporters only. Nazi Germany is right!
What Ministry would/should be responsible for putting down pedestrian crossings? One is badly needed somewhere near the junction of Prince Charles Drive/Elizabeth Estates & Eastwood (where the 1st fatality occurred?) Can be like a racetrack out there and dangerous, especially when there are school-children trying to dash across after 3pm.
Interesting. Met via 'Christian Mingle' yet plotting to illegally enter the US. Sad to say, but sounds like she had a plan to get out of Peru and into the US from when she first met the American guy. Doesn't sound like this will end well.
Is this an attempt at a joke, a very bad joke? "Worked for the Germans"? Seriously? I expect that will be MP Mitchell's next suggestion, although what you're asking it to include (race, religion, sexual orientation) are no one's business.
Like I said elsewhere, did Parliament pass a law stating that Bahamians, and others residing in the Bahamas, must carry official government approved ID with them at all times? I didn't get the memo. Sounds like something from apartheid South Africa where you had to have your ID/papers to move about your own country. If government wants us to carry ID they better make it a law otherwise they are wrong.
Got caught in this this morning taking my daughter to COB for a final exam. Since when do I, as a Bahamian, have to carry ID to show who I am? Was a law passed in Parliament that we were not told about? Until there is a law saying that I MUST carry government approved identification I'm not toting a bunch of paperwork with me just because someone can't pronounce my uncommon surname and my skin is light. What does a Bahamian look like anyway?!
