I would like to hear from bahamian ladies on this not just churchy folk. i am torn between "we should not impose our own moral values on other people" and "let them be." but how on earth can any self respecting woman act like that. i guess it's cheaper than going to trinidad to wear slutty clothes. when BTC was advertising it on TV under "our culture", I simply turned my head, I couldn't look.
I like the names of the tugs but come on man these pilot guys have set up their own kingdom in the nassau harbor for years. maybe even since samson times!!!! with this kind of a monopoly they got the government to pay for their shiny new boats for their private business. but hey it's 100 percent bahamian owned right so it is ok right ha!
we agree that the culture is what it is as you described. I blame the poor/rich divide that got wider and wider over the years for it.
I support this plan because mainly personally for me it's the morally right thing to do and professionally social science case studies are always exciting.
I like his ideas! It sounds like he does not see the betterment of life for these people as an expense but a long overdue investment in the communities. Best wishes PM!
does anybody actually put any money aside every year for house repairs that you know are coming? i'm not a home inspector but i know a roof does not last forever even when there is no hurricane. This actually reminded me of how the post office and recently the central bank (they said oh it's over 40 years old) wants new buildings. I don't understand it. do they say yeah man this white house or empire state building is too old, let's build new one. no man just budget it and maintain it!
oh your daddy was GG/PM/Deputy PM/knighted. we fix you up with something nice. prestigious. no worries. who dat 6 year old off of kemp road. he lucky if he finishes high school.
man, we should at least see the annual reports of these government corporations and how much they make! who cares if bahamasair loses millions a year, these fancy positions still get paid A LOT.
i'm suspecting the D- average in math has unfortunately infiltrated into the government everyone! no matter how much you tax something, even 100% of ZERO is 0. Nada. Zip.
Bahamian public is not heartless. we feel for the 300 people whose jobs are on the line. But what these handful of union guys are doing is throwing threats at our faces saying you'll sweat your butts off, it will be a dark summer, we are not going anywhere. is this way to represent your union people? is this the way to ask for worker's rights man? it is rude and unfair to all the workers. bahamians shouldered the high cost of electricity for less than mediocre service for decades and THIS is the treatment they get. shameful. You blame it on the foreigners the oil the moon and the sky but somewhere somehow this has to stop. let BPL lower our bills the best way they can.
