The PM is only saying out loud what MOST Bahamians think anyway.

There are only a handful of "real jobs" that Bahamians respect & aspire for themselves and their offspring. We know them too well ...... Law, medicine, business, engineering, then the middle level public service jobs, then the lower level trades jobs.

If a family has financial flexibility to allow it, a career in "the arts" will be tolerated. But, generally, kids who ask their Bahamian parents to support them in an "orange career" will get the same response as what the PM gave ....... After all, are any of his kids engaged in an "arts" career?????

It is not what he says, it is what he does.

More bad?????? ...... than Vomit & Gravy?????

Come on man, be fair & reasonable in your comments.

Ingraham has other faults, but his record as PM is pretty impressive - compared to his successors in OPM.

I guess that ........ if there is a tint of Hubert Minnis support or sympathy in any of these potential FNM 2026 candidates, then they should not expect a nomination from the Pintard leadership team. Loyalty & synergy is key. Purging is mandatory.

The Minnis era is over. Like it or not. No hard feelings. That's just how politics goes.

Definitely, it won't go beyond May 2026.

This fat 2025-26 Budget proves that the PLP is on the homestretch and won't give the FNM another Budget Debate to expose the graft & bloated contracts.

Some constituency boundaries should not be gerrymandered, especially where it is obvious that a FNM seat is being eliminated by redistricting.

On the other hand, it is clear that the black belt (ghetto) seats are protected by the PLP, despite the lower population compared with Southern & Southwest NP.

The PLP must not reduce Family Islands seats as there should be a caucus that can speak on behalf of the rural population. That caucus should be encouraged for national development reasons. With the PM & DPM representing Family Island constituencies, it was a good boost for these islands. However, MICAL, Long Island & Andros still seemed to lag behind in focused attention.

Time will tell, whether the PLP boundary cuts will be a honest response to population shift OR simple gerrymandering.

Even though Pintard has not gotten off to a good start (for whatever reasons), the country as a whole needs a viable Opposition to counteract the despotic PLP.

So, whether it is Papa or Minnis, the leadership team needs to listen to all factions and try their best to put together the best team possible to contest the 2026 General Election.

As Papa said, if you are a FNM, get on board and fight the PLP. Dont stay home and bitch

The public school system is in crisis when it comes to having sufficient teachers and administrators. It is both a quantity and quality issue.

Much of the problem has to do with union demands & obstruction, as much as with HQ blunders & logistics.
Too many Bahamians are not prepared to serve outside of NP & GB. The Govt cannot attract or keep school staff to rural communities due to the issue of hardship and domicility policies.

So, there is much work to be done all around.

Birdie

Do you live and work in Long Island today?

Do you know how the New Day PLP has frustrated the citizens of Long Island since 2021?

Do you still support the kangaroo court case against the LI MP that has been used to punish his constituency as well???

Do you endorse the New Day attempt to sabotage the development of LI in an attempt to try and win the seat in the 2026 election?????

sheeprunner12 says...

That's a simple fix. Revise the tiny ghetto seats where the Haitians vote for the PLP. Then move the seats to the South where the people now live.

Just don't cut any Family Island seats OR expand the total number of seats. The cost of Government is already too much for the relative size of our country.

sheeprunner12 says...

So there's only one FNM witch hunt left in the New Day bag of tricks ...... And that is a personal grudge case for the PM.

It just looks so glaringly stupid now, given that the Beaches & Parks accusations were far more than the alleged WSC $1.2 million "fraud" case.
