The Devil is in the details ....... the lawyers know where the details are.
How can the ordinary citizen trust the lawyers in this country to actually create and pass land reform bills that do not benefit their fraternity????
Let us hope that the few ethical and morally upright lawyers in the 242 system lobby the lawyers in Parliament to do it truly - in the best interests of The People.
Did the PM consult his legal peers, surveyors, realtors & community activists who have seen the land ownership quagmire that has existed before & after Independence?????
How confident can the ordinary Bahamian who owns some commonage, family/tenancy or generation property OR wants access to some Crown Land on any given Out Island be that these laws will not further deprive them of their land via the court, registration, taxes or political connections?????
How will the public be assured that the politicians will cover ALL bases to protect the citizens????
I can say the same thing about the "PLP islands" ......... Andros, Cat Island, MICAL.
Long Island people don't sit back and wait on the politicians to give out candy. If that was the case, Pindling would have broken the spirit of the ppl between 1967 & 1992. He split up the constituency and it still didn't work.
But, national development is not supposed to be based on political ties, it should be based on long term goals. I guess our politicians think short term (5 years).

Let us think of two Presidents who were men who made a living in the performance arts.
Ronald Reagan of the USA
The present President of Ukraine

Davis has been a career criminal lawyer.
He has represented most of the despicable notorious drug dealers & gangsters in this country.
It is alleged that he presently lives in one of his former clients upscale mansion out West.
How can the PM criticize Pintard???
They both have tons of skeletons in their closets.
This discourse just turns off 242 voters.

Do the math ........
The Minnis Govt bought the hotel for $65M, 8 years ago.
The Govt kept it open at a cost of $1.5M per month for 8 years. That's 96 months x $1.5M, plus other costs for the management company.
So, the Davis Govt basically gave it away

I need y'all smarty pants to suggest some good 2026 FNM candidates in this forum.
That is what commentary is all about.
Personally, a combo of Minnisites & Ingrahamites(Pintardians) will be great.

I understand that GB is starving (just like Long Island).
But dangling New Day carrots before us with a year left in this political election term is
amateurish. But that is their M.O.

I can't fault the FNM for not turning up to that PLP rally.
That was a bunch of baloney and no bread.
The PLP are the masters of "show". But where is the money?????
Gravy Davis is pulling out all of his tricks now to get ready for the 2026 election. Don't be dazzled or hoodwinked by the PLP New Day fireworks
