Rodney Moncur already has a national platform that far exceeds most talkshow hosts and other media personalities. He espouses Christian values that speak in a cultural tone to the common man and woman in this country ........ fidelity in marriage, manners and respect, support for capital punishment, fair treatment under the law, etc.
Regardless of his mode of studio delivery and his onshow antics, he has a good effective message to deliver to the grassroots youth and the urban community. A bigger political platform that can bring together the PLP and the FNM leadership at the inner city community level, and will only help the country at large ............. Whether we should pay him 60K & perks is debatable.
TalRussell has made a salient point ............... Minnis has NO credibility to question whether Munroe has appointed Moncur as a "consultant" ............ At least Rodney has a larger following on his daily ILTV show and probably has more social impact, than a few crazy, obscene Whatsapp messages that Omar sent out from time to time.
Reality is that both Rodney & Omar are on the political fringes and do not make a serious impact on the political outcomes of this country. But, it is hard to deny that Rodney is good cheap entertainment ......... God save the Queen and the Negro People dem is as true as it gets

Swimming is considered a "bougie" sport compared to track & field that appeals to the masses. That is why one will appeal to Brave more than the other.
BTW, The Bahamas won swimming on medal points, not on gold medals (like track). Maybe the system should be standardized, then we would have come FOURTH in swimming, based on gold medals.
The BAAA is sold out to the track clubs ........... money greases the wheels of track clubs.This is why 99% of our high school students will go unnoticed, whether they have latent talent or not.
Then there is the question of track facilities .......... the example of the treatment of the coach in Moore's Island & Stevie Gardiner has left a bad taste in the mouths of all Out Islanders. Despite the good work that the coach did with nothing, he was given promises for 15 years by politicians, but nothing was delivered .......... It is so disingenuous to see Sears repeating the same old tired lies to this dejected old man who has given all of his strength and commitment to those young men over the past two decades. Politicians talk, but we do not support our youth.
Track & field in the majority of public & private schools is not taken seriously ......... the passion for the OTHERS to compete against QC & SAC and the track clubs is gone. Most school coaches see the track club clique as a "members only" fraternity where they nor their athletes are welcomed ..........There is little motivation, because very few "coaches" see it as worth their while to go the extra mile to fight the BAAA glass ceiling, even if they are getting a stipend.
