**He continued: “The minister of state in my office was just speaking the facts as what was said in the actuary report. They are recommending and they are urging that we do so and as was his duty he is bringing that report to Cabinet for us to look at and discuss.
“We will consider it but as insofar as what my views are on it, it’s not going to happen, not now, not until we have brought the relief to the Bahamian people and we have put to bed some of the issues that can’t make them sleep when they go to bed.”**

That in a nutshell, my fellow Bahamians, is the reason why our leaders/PMs are despicable, narrow-minded and leading us down a path of despair and destruction ........ No vision, just pandering to voters, while enjoying the trappings of the Office and not being accountable and making hard decisions.

The Tribune will then add insult to injury by getting an opinion from Shameless Shane Gibson.

Talk, talk, talk ........ We all know that the PLP has no interest or intent to curtail the shanty towns (Haitians) as that population is potential swing votes in at least 12 constituencies.

Yep, get the books right, then let us see them. How can we say Amen to NIB secrets??

An actuary could comment on NIB latest records, but nothing is posted for the public to see??

Old fashioned FNM & PLP smoke & mirrors. Come clean Brave

Where is the NIB accountability for the past 10, 20, 30, 40 years????? ........ how much do the workers, executives, consultants, PEPs etc make annually (compared to caricom), and WHY???? ......... How much money remains uncollected due to political favours???? ......... Why are there not more efforts to collect private sector/SME payments?????? .............. Is the Government up to date with all of its public sector payments?????? ............Who really decided to "invest" NIB funds over the years (the Board or the politicians?) ........... Are all of the present "benefits" necessary?

The time to account is NOW .......... Don't come to Parliament asking for money without laying ALL of the details on the table .......... No time for pointing fingers about FNM or PLP.

Soooooooo, the Government is unwilling to decrease its share of the fuel revenue and assist the gas station business operators in this difficult financial environment? ......... If the Government reduces its margin by ten cents, will that be a state crime???????

Or what is wrong with reviewing the present fiscal regime of taxation on fuel??????

Or reviewing WHY is it that Frankie "Snake" Wilson has a monopoly on importing ALL of the fuel into and throughout the country, while being a retailer at the same time???

Or asking the foreign fuel brands (Shell/Esso/Rubis) to take it easy on their station operators and stop the predatory measures/demands that they use to wring out and crush many of their dealers through exorbitant franchising fees, c-store profit sharing, and property rents???

But washing your hands off the problem is what Pilate did to Jesus ...... Political cowardice

sheeprunner12 says...

Where are the CCTV cameras along the prison walls????? .......... That is a fairly easy problem to solve ......... the cameras can identify WHO is breaking the law on both sides of the fence.
Then it boils down to WHO is manning the cameras in the HMP ........ Corruption is hard to stamp out in that place. It starts from the Commissioner all the way down to the junior officer ........ Just go and watch the movie **The Longest Yard**

This little country has so many challenges at this time that giving "undocumented residents" their preferred option of a passport is the least of our major problems in 242 right now .............. 95% of those so-called "stateless" people just prefer to not have their proper nationality documents and want us to GIVE them ours that they are not entitled to on day one.

Our constitutional laws regarding nationality and citizenship are clear, just like that of Haiti, Jamaica, USA etc. ............ these non-Bahamians need to go and read, and get proper advice. And Uncle Sam needs to stop meddling in our affairs while they have a worse situation in the great USA.
I trust that Uncle Sam is doing the same for the millions of Hispanics, Africans, Asians etc who live in a similar situation in the great USA.

How many of these undocumented persons truly exist in our country without a passport? .......... If they do not have a 242 passport, then they need to find their country of origin embassy and get their relevant legal documents sorted out before expecting GIFTS from our government.

Yep, VAT across the board, now NIB increase.

The poor ppl and most SMEs can't take no more

You hit it on the head ....... We await the spin that the Brave One will put on this revelation by LaRoda

Funny how the FNM cannot rebuff this ..... They are co-conspirators in NIB fiscal decline.

If this revelation is true, ALL Bahamians should be outraged by the political betrayal of successive governments for their own selfish motives by misusing NIB funds
