These same children who will now not be getting any corporal punishment in school are getting abused by parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, stepparents, big brothers/sisters, pastors, popos, coaches, neighbours, employers etc ......... Abuse is rampant in our society in multiple forms.
That is why many kids "act out" in schools because it is a release valve in many respects. Schools do not have the resources, time, or protocols to deal with ALL of these hurt children and youth. But there are false expectations that society places on schools and churches that should be focused in HOMES. Broken homes are at the root of the hurt, pain, abuse, and violence that we see in other spheres of society.
The war in Ukraine is barely 8 days old ............ how can oil prices in The Bahamas rise so quickly??? ................. Didn't the oil companies not have any fuel in stock at Clifton Pier??
These fuel companies are ripping us off and blaming Russia
If that is the excuse why we should not get back to normalcy, then I cry shame on all of us. There is no new money to build any new hospitals or hire more staff, so why winch & whine??? ...... Live with it, Covid is here now in a form not worst than a flu. No need to sound alarms anymore
The people will soon go back to normal, despite what the Government is saying. They mimick USA.
Will Gravy Davis Cabinet Ministers ever get anything done this term ......... beyond cherry-picking minor things from the Minnis regime to "investigate"????? .......... Worst still, how much will it cost the Treasury?????
In SIX months, what can any PLP Minister point to as real achievements beyond Minnis regime???
Pintard is the master of innuendo ................ He fought Minnis tooth & nail while in the Cabinet (but that cannot be told either) ........ Only Papa can say that (LOL)
This is a good trio to start over with. Pintard & Cartwright has a good balance of youthfulness, experience & networking. Doc speaks with measured authority & influence. He can take on Fweddy.
Now, it takes mobilization of the base & building a new game plan for 2026. Pintard will have to be charismatic & crafty to battle the PLP juggernaut in Parliament. Cartwright has to extricate himself from that Beaches&Parks mess. He has to put that to rest.
This will be an interesting fight. Russia is trying to re-create it's old empire. But those days are over. Ukraine and the other 12 ex-USSR countries do not want to turn back that clock
Russia will find itself isolated and labelled as a bully by the world. Ukraine is not like Iraq. There is no Al Queda, Taliban or Saddam or Bin Ladin for Russia to blame. No one will support Russia openly, even though China may look like an ally.
This will reignite the Western powers & NATO. Watch out for Germany in this conflict
Seems so, LastMan ................. AUG Bastain needs to recommend that his findings be taken before the PAC .............. Will Pintard & Co honestly deal with it???
The issue is not the work of the AUG .......... the real issue is the filibuster & dysfunction of Parliament

Agreed ............ why pay BPL executives/Board (and staff) these hefty salaries and perks if they cannot make any decisions??? It's ludicrous.
These broke-ass, entitled, inefficient SOEs are going to be the eventual downfall of our country.
