I think we use the word "corrupt" very loosely ............ why do you think that this Colina deal is corrupt vs the Kanoo deal?
Giving one company an unfair advantage is not necessarily corrupt ....... It only becomes corrupt if someone connected directly to the deal gets a financial gain out of the deal.
Maybe you can tell us more about HOW Minnis and Chester have benefitted financially from these deals
**Gregory Pickering, Island Wholesale’s sales and marketing manager, told Tribune Business the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office was enlightening but it was determined that there was “very little” that could be done about the increasing cost of consumer goods as The Bahamas imports virtually all it consumes.**
Herein lies the problem ............ Stop the imports of things that we presently grow in the country and encourage the production of things that we can grow....... Go cold turkey.
But there are too many special interests connected to food imports that will kill import substitution efforts. Will the PM ever be honest enough to admit that?
I agree with the above commenters ................... The Government is proving that it cannot walk and chew gum - even when the gum is not even out of the gum wrapper.
I believe that Gravy, Halkitis, and Chester are still trying to fudge numbers or look for red herrings to make much ado about nothing ........ This will be the third Finance debate in 8 months and nothing much will change, except for the theatrics over foolishness
We know the reality ............ the country is in real debt about $12 billion, little change to the accounts receivables or SOE dependency, no reduction in public hiring/spending or pensions owed, little attempt at diversification, and the economy has not rebounded much beyond last summer.
The PLP Government has not fundamentally changed the fiscal paradigm, just adjusted the deck chairs on the Titanic, so why waste 2 weeks talking hot air in March and again in May????
If the Government has already invested $30 million in that property, cheaper they negotiate to buy that property for a few more dollars .............. eminent domain in the public interest

That's how silly these rules are in reality

These packing houses need to become commercial agribusiness centres on each island to help feed locals and export excess to Nassau & Freeport.
If Govt can't run it, then privatize them (PPP).

John ...... You sound quite bitter. Were you hurt deeply by a woman that you loved????
That is another problem. Many men are hurt by women that are very close to them, but cannot deal with it
These hurt men become vicious abusers. A vicious cycle.
