I said that the FNM has class and order. Please stop focusing on personalities and focus on the party as a whole. That is the main problem in our country today.
At least the FNM has a measure of class and order ..... Unlike the PLP. Minnis will be fine, he'll continue to do his job as MP. Only regret is that HAI and HAM should reconcile to make the FNM stronger.
Haitian gangs control Haiti. Is Fweddy courting more Haitians locally and risking those gangs to become more active here? Zoe Pound is kids play compared to the gangs that holding Haiti hostage right now
Bowe is showing his colours. VAT at any percentage squeezes the lower & middle class. If the tax regime is not changed to tax the wealthy more than the poor, then it's a waste of time. Income and corporate tax remains off limits for the most part because the elite (like Bowe) will continue to oppose taxing the rich.
Lowering VAT is not as simple as that. Just like it's talk of lifting the Emergency Orders. The PLP is good at talking, but not good at implementing the talking points. If this "talk" takes until next year and it flops, God helps us all. The IMF and OECD are watching the PLP closely
So who made him FNM leader? Get real. The system set us all up. He didn't come to power by a coup. Votes put him in and took him out. But Joe Public has little say in any of the parties
All Bahamian political parties use "delegates" to elect leaders. The only problem is whether the "delegates" resemble the wider voting public OR the special interest groups that fund the parties.
You don't get it. Leadership change is a process. And it is happening in the FNM, despite the "delay" according to Joe Public. Did Pindling or Christie step down when they lost in 1992, 1997 or 2012? It took death and defeat to get them out of power. So don't compare the two on that score
