To whoever removed my earlier comment.

Let it be known that the voices of Long Islanders will NEVER be silenced.

We survived Pindling's brand of apartheid.

We can survive this lightweight tin hat dictator as well.

Can our PM point to 2 or 3 tangible national projects that his Government has undertaken by his Cabinet Ministers on the ground to make our country safer or more resilient from climate change????

This PLP Minister of Environment is the most ineffective one to ever sit in that chair, despite all of the talk that he had 2017-21.

I don't know of anything beyond empty rhetoric.

Based on our level of service from WSC these days, we should ALL get off the grid.

We are paying for essential services that we don't adequately receive in 242.

Long Island seems to in a state of not been counted as a part of The Bahamas.

All that is listed in this article is true. Plus more.

No need to get personal with the MP ...... We are taxpayers and deserve far better than this.

This economic demise in Long Island has been going on for well over a decade now. The Govt likes to talk about Dorian, but Long Island has been hit with five major storms since TS Noel in 2006.

Where is our hurricane recovery plan???????

This should be embarrassing for the Minister to have to say. She brags about her HR credentials.

If a person is in a government management position for 10-20 years and there is NO succession planning policy is in place, then that is a failure on the part of the Executive team of that Ministry/Department/Agency.

That is where the problem lies. The Minister should know that.

Bringing back 65+ year old retirees to train the same workers who they refused or neglected to mentor when they were in office is the main problem that has to be fixed.

Hold your breath ...... Snake & Pike will strip the last remaining coins from the pockets of the average/poor Bahamians.

This is a far worse national travesty than BaTelCo in 2011.

This corrupt and incompetent tin hat dictator has been manipulating the energy sector for the past 3 years.

No one can believe that this tactic is not orchestrated for a PR campaign to get the public to feel a sense of relief.

But is this real or is this another ruse that the New Day crew has done before?

Lundy putting water in Cat Island and ain't none in Andros.

Check the records ...............

In other decent, respectable British Commonwealth countries, where such a socially explosive situation has occurred, a Commission of Inquiry was a necessary outcome to ensure that the Police Force or Army was seen to be above reproach OR to ensure that those culprits implicated in such a rumour was brought to justice.

Sadly, The Bahamas Government has decided not to do such a thing, and has placed us in the category of "banana republics" where strongmen and autocratic rulers cover up the dark secrets of their police forces or militaries.

Even Pindling did not run from the "Nation for Sale" allegations that led to the 1984 Commission of Inquiry. But, the New Day version of Pindling's PLP has sullied the good name of our country and covered up Bahamar, Nygard, FTX and now the CID scandals.

We as a nation have entered a dark zone.
