The PLP stalwarts depend on their political overlords for handouts, contracts, jobs, scholarships, food stamps, taxi plates, SD plates, board appointments, senior civil service posts, ambassadorships, etc. ........ They are entrenched for the past 50 years and just lie in wait .......... That is how they roll.

Bahamian women make up the majority of heads of households, mainstream church membership, civil servants and critical health & education sectors ........ But they are not proportionally represented in senior management or national leadership sectors.

Is that as a result of a party glass ceiling, bad advisors, cultural sexism, self-funding, or the dog-eat-dog nature of our predatory politics ......... or a combo of all?

The recent behaviour of LBT makes her a bad example for women politicians to follow ....... just like Gravy Davis and the PLP. She has NO one to blame but herself.

LBT was forced on Long Islanders by Hubert Ingraham in 2012, but she was given a chance to be an FNM MP ............ The locals accepted her and LBT was well set to be the DPM right now ........ but "the Devil" made her do some really stupid things after 2012 that turned off the majority of mainstream FNM and swing voters in Long Island ........ Hence, she is in the political wilderness today (her fault).

Did the MH Port ever pass inspection??????? ........ Why not use this new port for all of Abaco????? .......... Or is there something else afoot with this Hutton fella???????

Meanwhile, there are other islands with NO decent docking facilities ....... But selfish Hubert Ingraham was hogging it up for Abaco while the going was good ..... Now it will probably sit and rot with no serious economic use as a port .......... Marina, huhhhhh????????

The Bahamian charter plane business is very fragile and cut-throat (as it presently exists competing with Bahamasair and other international carriers) ....... It requires that the local owners have deep pockets and/or foreign partners ........... And there may be a number of major PEPs who will be glad to see the back of Randy Butler due to his outspoken (political) views on the aviation industry.

A Bahamas National Lottery with the existing 7 houses as the distribution centres is a good idea ........ The issue will be what the profits split will be be ........... Govt 40% ........ The Houses 60%????

Whether the greedy Numbers Cartel buy the idea ......... Wait and See.

This is the problem with the brand of tourism that most islands are subjected to (the all-inclusive hotel) ........ Bahamians must now own their tourism product, hotels and services.

The Club Meds, Atlantis, Albany, Baha Mar, Bakers Bay, and Sandals brands etc are merely leeches in our economy ......... They provide some jobs, but do not encourage many tourism linkages.
