NO Bahamian politician wants to confront the 25,000 working civil servants and tell them that they must either PAY a fraction of their future pension ........... or risk not collecting any at all.
Those tens of thousands of Government workers and SOE retirees who now collect their Govt pension and NIB benefits must also feel uneasy ....... knowing that 2030 is not too far away.
KPT and Minnis both know that they have to swallow this huge pension pill and that it can blow up in their faces in 2022 or 2027 ......... They may choose 2027 for personal reasons.
If KPT wants to help the poor ............ bring in income tax ........ Those who earn over 30G pay 10% .......... over 50G pay 20% ......... over 70G pay 30% ...... over 100G pay 40%. Then there will be no hollering and crying about the rich not paying their share ..... The millionaires will find something else to complain about again.
They need to take age limits off these posts ......... like in the USA ...... let them serve until they are medically declared incompetent, voluntarily resign, or die.
We waste too many human talents and resources with these stupid artificial age definitions .......... None on PM or MP.
Ingraham and the FNM was nowhere near as BAD as the SLOP or Christie-led PLP (in terms of corruption, cronyism or victimization) ........... Minnis is not even as bad as Ingraham ................ Any objective person will agree with my opinion.
Ingraham's style was good for that time ......... Minnis is better suited for today. Until the Government commit to more FI development (like moving the capital to Fresh Creek, Andros) ......... this is the best road projects that can be done.
Classic Hubiggity ................... He needs to write a letter apologizing to Bahamians for the misuse of the funds & resources in building that North Abaco seaport (that will never be used).

Folks, it is right there in black and white for all to see .......... Election is in 2022.
