Many young Bahamians (16-30) don't have soft or hard job skills to hold down decent paying jobs. Most of the low paying jobs (under $300 pw) are taken and many ppl prefer to hustle rather than work for $300.
If you get laid off and over 50, cheaper you live off NIB rather than look for another job (none available). Then NIB going broke from paying out too much and no funds coming in ........ It's just a big mess all around.
The PLP is taking BPL down the same road as BTC. The only difference is that Ingraham sold BTC to a foreign company, while Davis dem is in cahoots with some of their PEPs to make a killing out of BPL for the New Day elite.
Time will tell how far this New Day deal with BPL will be another tax millstone around the 242 citizens' necks.
Tourism was a good thing for The Bahamas. Since the advent of cruise ships, our product is declining by the year. The worst mistake that the Govt made was to allow cruise ship companies the right to either lease or own these cays. Pintard is right ...... The PLP bragging over tourist numbers without the money reaching the man on the street is very stupid.
Exposed2C & Whatsup ........... the voters vote for those politicians who can "grease the wheel" for them ........ It is not as if the voters are totally naive/innocent and the politicians are evil. Both politicians and voters (party supporters) have a stake in these elections.
That practice is common all over the world ........ not unique to 242
Bahamians are just a lawless set of people ............. If the PF Traffic chief is correct that 50% of persons involved in accidents have either no license or insurance OR may be driving a vehicle that does not belong to them without the documents, then this country is lawless.
This is the same, whether you are in Nassau or on the Family Islands ........ On some islands, they are still using the Columbus yellow plates ........... Where are the Police?????? Or is it that these serial traffic violators are PEPs who cannot be "touched"??????
