This should become a standard practice now .......... Identify in the news story, the school that every criminal and crime victim graduated/attended ........ SMH
For once............ Gowan Bowe is talking sense ............... Unfortunately, this situation has festered since 1964 when Cabinet was instituted ...... Politicians run the civil service now.
What these Union Presidents (like Maynard & Woods) failed to tell Bahamians is that less than 20% of the Bahamian workforce actually belongs to a union ........... Secondly, the IDB already rated the Government workforce at 19 out of 100 ........... So, Minnis has to perform some serious surgery right now to heal this dying patient ......... Most Bahamian are fed up and pissed off with these Unions who want to blackmail and drain a "broke" Government.
The Government has had THREE human resources survey/inventory campaigns since 2010 ........... and they still have not right-sized each Department (gotten worse) .......... PS Johnson has to point her fingers at herself and her fellow PS, as well ........... She has been there at the top of the Public Service all this time.
Education begins at home ........ Look at the quality of home life in The Bahamas and ask yourself if schools can fix that ........ and do not point to the 6 or so A-grade socially-elite private schools as the example for the country to follow.
Why did they put in the story that she was a QC graduate???? ......... mixed up with a fella "known to police" ( armed robber, drug dealer, gun smuggler etc) .......... Not so smart girl.
Our Bahamian high school/college graduates go overseas and do not come back ...... they are replaced with mostly illiterate, unskilled foreigners ........ Bad trade off.
Hence our national workforce crisis ............ and down-spiraling
