Freeport should have never been able to exist ............. How can a house be divided against itself and remain viable????? How can a quasi-country exist within another country?????
The GBPA/DevCo has been milking its assets and its value-added entities for some time now. Only a storefront remains there today from the Ingraham era.
The PLP allowed this foreign entity to continue beyond 1973 ........... Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
The PF gets 100 new vehicles every year at around $1 million and they are crashed, shot up & banged up as well. Do we complain about that, too?
The DF get $100 million of boats & drones and many are run aground or laid up for repairs while the smugglers and poachers still move freely Do we complain about that, too??
What about all of the Ministers cars and SOEs cars??? The free gas & diesel for each of them, plus all of the mechanic servicing etc???
It's big business & kickbacks for the PEPs. That's how we roll in the 242.
The comment was made that only 50% of boat owners register their boats for the first time and NEVER register them again. That was BEFORE this ridiculous law was passed.
If that is the case, and most of the small boats are owned by Family Islanders, then the Govt has a huge task with compliance with this new law now. It is defeating the purpose of increasing the ease of using maritime traffic and ensuring practical boat ownership among the Out Islands.
Why does a guy with a tin boat & 10HP need insurance, dry docking etc to go and catch a few grunts & conchs??
This is what our PLP government pays this man $60,000 to do .............. But, they won't pay trained teachers half of that to do a professional job in schools.
Much less hire other professionals to complement the teachers to deal with mal-adjusted students.
Our politicians prefer gimmicks over tried & true professionals.
