What the director of the Ministry of Education said was an insult to the people of Mayaguana. I am surprised (maybe not totally) that such implications can come out of the mouth of someone supposedly "educated". All of our islands make up the one Bahamas. And regardless of their monetary contribution, which if really investigated stems from poor decision making and distasteful management practices by successive governments, each one of those islands still counts. The Southern Bahamas will one day rise. However, with people like the director at the helm, the rest of the Bahamas may not see the vision. Instead of building up those communities, he is helping to close them down. Shameful.

I agree with the middle part of your response. Ask this writer what they do on the job all day? Wats ap and Facebook all day. Some government workers now don head phones in their ears all day. This is in addition to watching shows and soaps shown on tv's government funds were spent on. What does going to "work" mean in this country especially for government employees?

"Is well-written" a word to use to describe that piece of rumble? It's obvious that some people are not used to reading anything with sense. Lol... diction and word-choice of a 4th grader at best. Did I see "agendas"? "Lack of population"? "massacre it"? "accomplished items"? lmao...

I have come to realize that common sense is needed in the Bahamas more than degrees.
For one thing, BPL has internal issues that need to be resolved.
If employees are stealing thousands of gallons of fuel yearly, and this has been going on for years, whats the point of these new ideas if the internal hazards persist? This country has become a breathing ground of thieves who work in gangs sometimes called "companies".

It is at a national crisis level... no its not normal.

This letter was perpetrated by supporters of the former government who planted nasty seeds on this highly political island . The author is one who is agitated that she did not get on the program right off the bat. Does she really care about the overall progress of the island? No. Does she care about her plp friends getting on the program? No. Its all for me baby as always. With strong ties with the former mp, Mr. V. Alfred Gray, who used this program as a political tool to try to secure a win and failed, this is just another bitter individual who wants things her way. This individual has no moral, political or ethical grounds to substantiate her claims. Those who spurred her to write this letter are those whose ridiculous government contracts were canceled and known thieves who have been fired from their jobs because they could not keep their hands out of the cookie jar. Birds of a feather flock together.

Oh no this is not petty tiefin baby... this is a big time thing... going on for years. Mayaguanians are highly suspicious of island administrators, chief councilors, councilors, and those who are in the cliques. All of whom seem to know of the slackness and jump into the pot to see what they can get. In 2013 the post office was supposedly robbed of over $250,000 dollars. The administrator was found tied up in the post office.. no evidence of bruises or even a struggle. Based on the above article, there was another administrator in Mayaguana who was alleged to be shady... doing as he felt with government funds. Tighter reins, further serious investigations and more legal penalties need to be levied on these s.o,b's.

so much has been going wrong for this bunch of clowns that they had to come up with some over-sensationalized rating for this dance party. Not surprised.

For years both political parties, the FNM and PLP have been trying to bury the voice of the people. There have been blatant forms of injustice brought to both of their attention that have been allowed to go on till now. I saw no difference between the two unholy amalgamations. I was hoping that Dr. Minnis would have demonstrated his stark contrast in business and political dealings by now. This has not been seen or demonstrated. Only Bad political practice and poor business dealings. Its like these people have no knowledge of how to look out for the people whom they serve. They have been making deals to suit themselves and serve their interests, dismissing the fact that they are hired servants.
When you try to bury the seed of intelligence the only thing that happens is it grows. Now there is a movement growing that appears to be interested in the voice of the people, with the realization that it is the people whom they serve. There are many highly intelligent and sensible Bahamians out there. Their weeping has been heard. So now we have this little "play" which will take us to a new day in The Bahamian History.

And it goes on and on and on. It's just about votes and getting an opportunity to deal with large sums of money. I have realized that when it comes to money, even sums far less in comparison to what this groups touts recklessly, that Bahamians go bananas. All watch words like integrity, honesty, truth, etc leave the house, heart and "christian souls" then.
