IMHO, I am saddened to see the path that the Bahamian government /Customs is taking rrelative to the dire circumstances faced in Grand Bahama. Rather than taking a path that eases the problems that the island is facing, they have become an extension of the overall problem. It strikes me that the Bahamian government wants to make sure that their income is not effected, when, in reality, if the Bahamas was truly a Christian nation, they would open the ports for hassle-free entries, duty-free and vat free for all. And allow the building material suppliers on island to do the same. This economy needs to get on its feer -- but if Customs does not bend, they are taking a very short-sighted approach. I pray, and I ask you to do the same, that the Bahamian government/Customs will re-visit their rigid stance.

Pray tell! how does Grand Lucayan get away with paying only $5.00/day for housekeepers? Not only is it unconscionable, isn't it also. below the legal minimum wage?

If these American boats are conducting business inside Bahamian waters, why not seize the boats?

The spokesman for the dive operation said that the buckles were unlocked on the equipment ffound and that a shark could not do that, therefore he said it was not a shark attack but a drowning. If I were a diver, and a shark attacked me from behind, The first thing I would probably do, is release me gear and hope that the shark choked on it, as I tried to get away as fast as possible.
