They missing the point anyway! Whether you charge for the bags now or not, whatever plastic bags these shops have in inventory after July 1st, where do you think they are all going to go? Straight to the landfill if they can't sell them! Yes stopping the import of them is a good start but limiting how retailers get rid of them and making people pay for them only delays the inevitable. At least people can reuse the bags at home or for other uses but at the end of the day whatever is left in inventory is still going to be thrown away and dumped in the landfill!

Don't hotels get concessions, such as tax breaks, no real property tax, duty free concessions, etc etc. Ok fine, charge vacation rental owners a room tax, and give them full refunds on all property taxes paid to date, allow them to import whatever they need duty free to fit out and furnish their homes.
Oh and lest we forget, the guests in these vacation rentals are buying groceries and liquor from local businesses, either renting a car or using local taxis and buses to get around, eating at non hotel owned restaurants etc etc. How many hotel guests do you think do that?!?

Daily long term parking at the airport used to be $10 per day. Which would mean that with VAT it should be $10.75 My receipt yesterday indicates it is now $11.00 flat per day as does the signage.
Why is it ok for the Government who owns the airport to increase pricing and price gouge but that is not news!??
