I hope those judges give out the $700 and $2,000 fines to the court staff for breaking the rules. Or do the rules only apply to joggers and people selling coconuts?
Yes, Minnis certainly trying to run a dictatorship and this new commissioner of police is no better!!! It doesn't make sense for this man to be locked up.
Covid19 has revealed a lot of things about this government and most are not good at all.
Most major hotels won't be open for most of the summer. So if load shedding still happens, this situation at BPL is even worse than I thought. This is nothing to brag about. SMH
Isn't it ironic, the very day that celebrates our independence our freedoms are taken away! So what? Will the PM cancel all holidays for the rest of the year? At some point this has to stop!!

Fine the people for not wearing masks, require businesses to enforce social distancing with non-family members, and provide the necessary sanitizers. I think once that continues to happen things will be okay. It's time to try to understand the best way to go forward with the "new normal".

It's time to pay more attention to the economy and getting unemployment to a much lower rate. Just enforce the existing protocols, but stop cancelling every holiday. People need the stress relief.
Many of the police officers in this country have shown themselves to be legal **thugs**. Until that changes and **all** officers are held **accountable**, I will never be impressed by anything the commissioner says.
This is a really stupid story. No one will know how many people in this country have Covid. So you have to treat **everyone** as if they have Covid. Use masks, sanitizer, and social distancing.

You can't look at someone who is asymptomatic and know that they are sick. If you are taking precautions as if everyone has Covid, then you don't have to keep closing your business willy-nilly. It's just ignorant!! SMH
Good points. Somehow though, I won't be convinced that all 130 are more skilled than Bahamians. I would wager that less than half of those who arrived had special skills and the rest are just assisting them.

The real issue is that the foreign investors want to hire the **cheapest labor** possible. If you want to come here and make millions in The Bahamas, the concession must be paying a bit more for Bahamian labor.
The government just gives into the demands of these investors too easily. It's a shame and a disgrace. SMH
The Government is to blame for this nonsense. Every other country around the world is putting their citizens first due to the global unemployment crisis.
But not The Bahamas, the government wants to always pretend that Bahamians are too dumb to do anything and this is not true!!

You watch how many work permits will continue to be handed out willy-nilly in the upcoming months, while Bahamians continue to suffer. Other countries will demand you hire a **large** % of its citizens if you are making an investment. But not The Bahamas, as usual, they allow the foreign investors to make all the decisions, reap all the benefits, then when they are ready pack up and jump ship and The Bahamas gets nothing out of it.

Well you know what they say about the definition of insanity... and here's another familiar one... **when you find a donkey, ride it**!!!
