For once, I agree with Brave on some things.
While I don't have a problem with the national curfew, I don't think businesses should close down. Tourism is our primary industry and we already will have a heavy economic hit from the lack of tourists. So people will be spending less already. Now employers are expected to keep on staff when they aren't making any money? This doesn't seem wise.

It also seems rushed. I think more feedback should have been received from the business sector to understand the long-term effects. If the unemployment rates raise astronomically, then so will crime. This can devastating effects for everyone.
Additionally, the virus won't disappear on Mar/31, so I don't understand why businesses should close down until then. I think the curfew would have been sufficient, along with the order to prevent gatherings of 10 or more people.

How are businesses supposed to keep staff employed under these conditions. I predict the unemployment rate will be quite dismal going forward. Crime will also increase dramatically as a result. SMH

I think a **balanced approach** is needed.

Bogart, we are in the hands of the good Lord. lol
To make a statement that we **won't have more** than 400 cases shows complete incompetence. Therefore I can't trust someone like that.

The spread of this virus will largely be impacted by individual Bahamians exercising wisdom with social distancing, hand washing, etc. Do I trust us to make wise decisions??? God help us all!

Good points all around. Sands was the same one who said that The Bahamas will only get 400 cases. I have absolutely **no confidence** in Sands.

To be honest, we probably already have more than 400 cases in The Bahamas. It's not like we are testing people much. Then, most people (80%) will experience mild symptoms or none at all. So that leaves me to believe many people already had Covid19 and just chalked it up to that "bad flu" going around that everyone was talking about earlier.

So the good news is we will probably be okay. The bad news is... for those with pre-existing conditions and are over 65... our health care system sucks and therefore the system will not handle more people like this going to the hospital at the same time.
That's the main issue in Italy. An Italian friend told me today that many elderly are in the hospital at the same time and they don't have enough beds or respirators (and they have a great health care system). Imagine us??? SMH

Yes this statement (about 400 cases) proves that Sands is a true fool or he just doesn't care. How in the heck will we stop the spread of something that is more contagious that the flu and 10 times more deadly according to Dr. Fauci?

He sounds like Trump trying to wish it away. Everyone is saying the US is 10 -15 days behind Italy. So what happened in Italy, a similar scenario will play out in the US who isn't even taking it as seriously as they are.

Then this silly government talking about 400 cases??? We might have nearly that here now and no one will know. As it stands, the majority of people who have it will only have mild symptoms and if our precious senior citizens pass away... I'm sure the government will just say natural causes (and not corona).

As predicted, we are **100 years** behind the 8-ball as usual. SMH

Thank you very much. An accident is *usually* something you **can't** prevent. This was completely preventable. This person had 3 pitbulls out at once, obviously that he couldn't control. Obviously that was a stupid idea.

Plus, he at a minimum should be made to pay this woman's medical bills and fined for not having these animals properly secured.

In "true" car accidents, those responsible are fined. This is just outright carelessness and it would be sad to know that nothing happens to the owner of the dogs. It will just embolden other owners to be just as careless until someone dies.

Not only that. These criminals are organizing, conducting surveillance, etc.
They are getting smarter in how they target and when they target and who they target. Are the police even taking the time to truly **proactively** investigate what's going on?

Or are they still just waiting until someone gets shot to show up?

To be honest, I think the **shot spotter** is even more of a waste. What will it tell them? Exactly where to come and **collect your dead body**??? SMH
