Ummm... I think we need to give PM Minnis a chance to perform before trying to tell what not to do. There's no need to get preachy *before* there's something to preach about.
Let's wait and see what the PM will offer. I for one, will give him the benefit of the doubt and look for positive things unless otherwise shown.

As long as Carl Bethel *isn't* Minister of Finance, I can live with that. His performance in his former posts has left a lot to be desired (esp. Education - truly deplorable).
I have a lot of respect for PM Minnis not choosing to be Finance Minister. His approach so far is commendable.

If Hon. Jeff Lloyd is to be Education Minister, I do hope he consults with Hon. Bannister because Bannister did an excellent job in that post (unlike the horrible job Fitzgerald did - only wanting photo ops and a truly arrogant approach, listening to no one).
Congrats Dr. Minnis, looking forward to see what you will offer next.

DEDDIE you are so right. Many of these very same Tribune bloggers threw Minnis under the Bus on more than one occasion. I never liked LBT. If you resign at the FNM convention after seeing your lack of support for leader. How you gonna turn around and oust the leader that the majority of the delegates supported. Those type of underhanded maneuvers are what got her exactly where she is now - Eating Crow!

Congratulations to the newly elected governing party. I am most grateful that it was a peaceful election process. The people have spoken.

Well-mudda I agree with you wholeheartedly. Why do both parties act like their hands are so clean? I personally, will be voting for the candidate, 'chips' will fall where they may. Very Well Said!

Shameful. This should never happen in a "so-called" modern society!

The government has done a lot of foolishness lately but let's get real... Hubert Ingraham *never* supported Minnis. He was LBT all the way.
I'm so glad LBT is out. She should get about 4 votes as an independent candidate. Too greedy for power.

Could not agree more. Both parties have had corrupt practices over the years. That is why I hate the term "die hard" supporters. The voting public who subscribe to be Die Hard PLP, FNM or DNA means that they see that whatever party they support as capable of *doing no wrong* or even worse, whatever wrong they do will be excused.

I hope we can be mature enough in the general public to look at our candidates and if they have proven themselves, select accordingly. I personally, am tired of placing "faith" in a particular political party. It would be amazing to have all hard working candidates get in only and the chip falls where it may as far as which party actually wins (but I guess that would only happen in an Afterschool Movie Special ). lol

I personally *only* vote for "candidates" and never among party lines. This is one candidate that I truly wish was a Member of Parliament for my constituency just so that I could vote against him.
He is truly a disgrace, a terrible Minister of Education (who only likes the spotlight and photo ops) and by all accounts from his constituency not a good MP either. Fitzgerald, do yourself a favor and resign to avoid further public embarrassment on May 10.

Wow, banker that is a bit much.
