So, just so that I am clear: the fact that these students would like to wear "decorations" on their graduation caps/gowns, means that they are not worried about whether they will get a job? That is a very scatological and vacuous comment. You, sealice, should run for office.
Mr./Mrs. Juju: Ok, I will engage you. Can you please name me one initiative/program that Mr. Symonette himself has enacted/developed/championed that has materially impacted in the development of The Bahamas?
Your ignorance is only matched by the stupidity of your comment. I would really like to comment further, but, I should let others opine on the scatological lunacy of your comment.
Dawes, I, respectfully, disagree. Much of what he said was not supported in fact. Which, in my opinion, seems to be the point everyone is missing. I would be foolish to disagree with the fact that our education system is failing (if it hasn't failed already), but again, much of his clichéd rhetoric was not grounded in fact. And, it demanded a response from the government (majority and opposition) and the citizens of this country that are knowledgeable of the truth. The response was quite appropriate and the resulting action, i.e. his retirement (if due to his vacuous drivel) was equally appropriate.
Madhatter, take the "loss" on this one. You have been clearly refuted with facts and an easily verifiable source...no need to embarrass yourself any further. All of your piety, wit or writing in all caps as though we who read these boards are blind, will not help. Just accept educateme's explanation and move on...please and thank you.
John Doe, very well said, and the balance in your retort is admirable. I will shut up now and let your already fine prose continue to seep in the minds of others who will read it.
It is really disheartening reading the comments on this message board. When I signed up, I was hoping to engage in good, healthy, honest dialogue about our country...even perhaps reason together, as the good Book says, and formulate a few solutions to propel our beloved Bahamas.. Instead, it appears that high school name-calling, scatological reasoning and wretched miscreant language permeates this comment thread. What is equally disappointing is that you all probably represent the best that the Bahamas has to offer. Sad for the Bahamas and for my children if this comment board is what we have come to as a people.
