It is really disheartening reading the comments on this message board. When I signed up, I was hoping to engage in good, healthy, honest dialogue about our country...even perhaps reason together, as the good Book says, and formulate a few solutions to propel our beloved Bahamas.. Instead, it appears that high school name-calling, scatological reasoning and wretched miscreant language permeates this comment thread. What is equally disappointing is that you all probably represent the best that the Bahamas has to offer. Sad for the Bahamas and for my children if this comment board is what we have come to as a people.
Hrysilpus all of your points are valid and true. I will, however, respectfully disagree with your assessment that Mr. Rolle has had very little experience in the financial world. That statement is just not true. The fact is that Bahamian "entrepreneurs" are lazy, clueless, talk a good game, but simply do not have the ability (financial or talent) to see an idea thru from conception to implementation. They seem to forget that the government is not supposed to guarantee them money to fund their whimsical projects. They need to hit the pavement and solicit money. Most of them should really read Steve Jobs' book to see what a true entrepreneur is. Sadly, the entrepreneurial spirit is not alive and well i n the Bahamas.
Wellmuddatakesick: I do not disagree with your logic. My only issue is, if you close the bank, then what do you do with the employees? Given the already lackluster employment numbers, do we really need more unemployed citizens?
