Obviously neither of you have had any first hand experience with the lady. As a former constituent of hers I experienced five years of listening to her mouth run but nothing of any consequence achieved in our constituency. I am not alone in my view of her which is why she was hurriedly packed off to Long Island in the following election. Ask the Long Islanders what their take is on her. My response to her renewed yapping would be we might need a lot of women but we don’t need you!!!
Anyone with an iota of intelligence need only look at the situation in Brazil where the health system has finally collapsed and the people are dropping like flies to see the results of no masks, no social distancing, vaccines are nothing but a placebo mentality. When you dumb you dangerous has become when you dumb you dead!
Just another glaring example of mans inhumanity towards man!
The Haitian problem has been with us long before Mr Smith appeared on the scene, in fact they’ve been with us since the UBP were in government.
The primary reasons the Haitians are forced to live the way they do is because for more than half a century, and despite their work ethic something lacking in most Bahamians, they have been exploited, marginalized, despised and brutalized by Bahamians, predominantly black Bahamians, who in fact do believe that they are racially and culturally superior to Haitians.
Even Haitians who have lived in this country for decades, many of whom were born here, are taken advantage of by our corrupt and thuggish immigration department, by unscrupulous employers and landlords, and are routinely shaken down weekly by our equally corrupt constabulary and our little darling thugs on the blocks.
Thousands have filed the required paperwork and made the necessary payments for residency and work permits only to have their records conveniently go missing, its big business.
The Haitians, even those entitled to one, can’t get a residency certificate or passport, they can’t open a bank account, they can’t get an NIB card, unless they pay some crooked official or politician, they’re forced of necessity to go underground so how do you expect them to be productive and contributing members of society?
There may come a time, maybe sooner than you think, that Bahamians find themselves in similar circumstances and it would be nothing more than poetic justice if our neighbors to the north and the European community looks down on us with the same disdain and contempt with which we view our Haitian brethren.
Agreed 100%!! Stick to what they’re best at, exploitation of the poor, unwashed and uninformed masses, bedroom window peeping to keep a close eye on marital rape, suppression of women’s rights and gay bashing.
