Bahamians don't use the sidewalks anyway much preferring to walk or jog in the road. This money could be used more productively in other areas like rehabilitating the countless dilapidated, outdated but much-needed storm drains or the national monuments, some of which are in a disgraceful condition, and still provide employment.
Interesting to note that as much as our people piss, moan and whine about the lack of vision shown by the government there is little in the way of innovative ideas forthcoming from the peanut gallery.
You might have more success with mandatory vasectomies as a penalty for failing to support your children and mandatory tube tying after your fifth child for the fifth absent father. Teachers shouldn't be expected to teach parenting, it's not part of the curriculum, nor can you put the responsibility for parenting on them as far too many Bahamians do, its a job for the parents, both of them.
No disrespect to your grandmother or grandaunt but what you didn't mention and is what is really missing in this equation is parents and parenting. We have mothers who are barely into their teens and grandmothers who are not yet thirty years old. As for the fathers, always conspicuous by their absence. Parenting in the Bahamas became extinct roughly fifty years ago.
Man, the white people can't catch a break, we blame Bahamian white folks for everything under the sun so why not blame the American southern white rednecks for all the social ills plaguing our society including the high murder rate, national D average, and high illegitimacy rate and destructive values. Brother Evans das some strong Koolaid you drinking.

I have two questions for Mr. Ferguson.
Do you now or have you ever owned and operated a business in the Bahamas that employed more than a few people?
That being the case, would you invite the union into your business and encourage your staff to join?
Just curious.
