Why is it that we have to interject race into everything in this country? Another reason why we will never become a meritocracy so long we keep blaming our own failures on what we perceive as racism in others. Just the other day there were a bunch of ignorant, bigoted Bahamian pastors frothing at the mouth on one of the talk shows because the Ministry of Education "did gie all the prizes dem to the hyshun chirrren". These children weren't "given" anything, they just applied themselves more diligently than our home grown darlings and were rewarded accordingly You are not entitled to anything in this life because you're black, or white or yellow for that matter, but bey, black crab syndrome still flourishing in this country 'cause ain nobody is discriminate against black people here more than black people.
The FNM have shot themselves in the feet, knees and head so many times in the last two years that they now qualify for paraplegic status; the only reason they haven't officially been declared dead is because they haven't been able to find a brain to shoot themselves in.
What exactly do you see the FNM bringing to the table at the moment? More old retreads that have been rejected by the electorate in more than one election, add Sexy Cassius Stuart, Lincoln Bain and his tape recorder to the mix and you have a genuine Molotov cocktail in the hands of a pyromaniac. This party being scorched by their own torch.
Now, Ms. Gibson, don't be honest with us just tell us the truth. Which other Ministry is the new recipient of "Dread Shreds" services in our guvments never ending retrenchment of criminal uncivil servants?
Mr. Roberts, with all due respect I should think the onus to explain the tiefin rests on Mrs. Hanna- Martin NOT the Auditor General. The biggest problem we have with politicians in this country is they all want the accolades when something goes right but refuse to accept the responsibility when things go tits up as they frequently do.
Tal, the biggest sacrifice made, the one you're conveniently overlooking, is the one made by the Bahamian people in having to live under the yoke of incompetent governance for so many years, the current administration in particular.
More xenophobia and ignorance on display! The majority of those either under employed or unemployed in this country are in that position either because they don't want to work, teifin is much more lucrative, or more likely are of the D grade variety, of which we are about to see a fresh influx of next month, who are only capable of performing the most menial of tasks and even those lacklusterly. If we as a country are ever to improve the standards, aside from getting rid of the government and weeding out all the tiefs, we need the capital & training foreigners can and do provide. For example the removal of all foreign teachers, those that taught our current leaders, from the school system by the Pindling government years ago has directly resulted in the debacle the educational system in the Bahamas has become today which in turn is responsible in a large part for the unemployment and crime in our society. But then again why would any self respecting foreigner want to live in this benighted country with its culture of racism, ignorance & corruption.
I don't suppose it occurred to him either that most of our under employed or unemployed are in fact for the most part unemployable. The fact that the government long ago got rid of all of our foreign teachers wouldn't have anything to do with that now, would it?
So in the name of fair play we should allow the government to piss away another million or two of taxpayers money to fund a group of fringe lunatics? And why is it that Paul Moss name seems to come up every time the government starts throwing our money around, Bahamasair, Junkanoo Carnival etc. Go figure!
