"A Member of Parliament has a duty to ensure that he produces in the high court of Parliament any information which he has in his possession to defend the realm. He cannot be lawfully restrained or suppressed.” Please tell us Mr. Mitchell, how does the defense of a PLP Cabinet Minister translate to defense of the Realm, when did "the High Court of Parliament" superseded the Supreme Court of the Bahamas and who appointed you Chief Justice?
Tal, how about Mr. Fitzgerald & Co make public their personal assets as they were legally required to do four years ago and on which we the public are still eagerly awaiting. You have no problem with them revealing the personal finances of private citizen when they blatantly and brazenly breaking the law?
Does he really believe that parliamentary privilege will protect him from prosecution under the Data Protection Act if STB's can prove that he hacked their private emails and confidential financial information information and the police do their job? What sort of message are these idiots sending to the Bahamian public, other NGOs and the financial world at large? This goes way beyond Noli Prosequi and Rubis, time for Fitzgerald to either resign or get fired. With Wishy Washy Christie presiding this is merely wishful thinking as it will without a doubt be whitewashed like all other government dirt.
John, after seeing the disgusting condition of the public beaches after the Easter weekend I had to ask myself do Bahamians even deserve beach access. Every public beach, Montague, Long Wharf, Saunders Beach, Orange Hill Beach, Love Beach and Clifton all left piled high with garbage that our slovenly and disgusting people were too lazy to dispose of properly. We complain about the Dump fires when in reality the damned island is a DUMP. Now our government has added mounds of political garbage to supplement the real and Fitzgerald, Mitchell and Miller even supplied the cans. Minnis has already shot himself in both feet and both knees, he just hasn't fallen on his face, sword yet.
Gotta tell you, every day the Greens looking a much better alternative to Naughty's' Yellow "Dumpster Divers" or the Reds Both Feet in Mouth all the time clowns. The November date for convention is the final nail in the FNM coffin.
Don't be honest with us, just tell us the truth. How many houses have been repaired during the last four years and at what cost? How many of the non-performing contractors who teif the money earlier have been made to finish the job or pay back the money? Y'all finish fixing that old war veterans house yet?And why the the sudden "gold rush" to repair 3000 in 2017, y'all think we all stupid as yinna ay?
I actually see you as quite political but I am a firm believer in letting the chips fall where they may regardless of whose tree you chapping. However the bed of nails that I and the rest of the country are currently reclining on was sold to us by the PLP and was probably manufactured in China at the same time as we got sold down the river.
Wrong Tal, we the taxpayer handed over nothing!! Our scheming government and their crooked bag men handed over a million dollars of our money and got swung by more accomplished crooks than them. We the taxpayers still waiting on an accounting for that too as well as many other glaring examples of guvment teefin. Further we the taxpayer would like nothing more than for a proper forensic audit to be carried out under the auspices of a Royal Commission of Inquiry and see who goes to jail
Tal, since when has it been the right of a politician to hide behind Parliamentary privilege and reveal the personal finances of private citizen, obtained by very questionable methods, to the public at large when we the public are still waiting for them to declare, or reveal if you would, their current assets which were probably even more questionably gained?
