Of course, the defense lawyers are going to squeal about this, you're talking about their bread and butter.
As to taking comfort from my "peers" coming to my rescue, well, that's cold comfort and another story.
When you consider that jurors are supposedly selected from all walks of life, from the very intelligent to the supremely ignorant, will you end up with a jury comprised of the former or of the latter?
Also, having served on a number of juries in the past, it was interesting to note that most of the defense lawyers immediately challenge any white person selected. the significance of this I leave to your own interpretation.
When you also consider that a large proportion of our population today are semiliterate at best, I would personally rather be judged by a panel of three judges on the evidence presented rather than the "feelings" and limited intelligence of twelve of our average citizens.

@Thisisours, all the President of Botswana needs to do to get 9 million visitors is find a way to park a half dozen cruise ships in the Okavango delta, no brainer really.
Not to mention all of the papyrus cutting and hippo culling jobs that would be available to the natives, you know the Botswanan equivalent to raking beaches and stacking beach furniture.
A little Davis/ Mitchell voodoo economic knowhow goes a long way, ain't ya know.

Those young men's body language just screams crushed and subdued, not much pride in self evident there, humiliation is not rehabilitation.

While Botswana may be considered one of the greatest African success stories, the Davis, Mitchell led government will go down as one the Bahamas greatest degradation stories!
Perhaps President Masisi can give Davis and Co some pointers on how to turn a clusterf..k into a success story................

Personally, I would far rather be judged by a panel of justices who are surely blessed with a bit more intelligence than a jury of 12 of my “peers”!
I’ll take my chances with m’learned Lords over da set selling fish and crabbie on da beach.

All very valid points, on the other hand AI or any other form thereof might be preferable to the stupendous lack of intelligence we’re currently saddled with.

Another talking suit crawled out from under his rock to sing in Davises choir, almost as irrelevant and obtuse as Ortland Bodie!

I didn’t think it was possible for Bodies sycophantic ramblings to become more absurd than they were but what is clearly evident from the effluent that constantly spews forth is that his mouth and his arsehole are interchangeable.

And wouldn't those 150 defense force personnel with all of their high priced vessels and equipment plus all the taxpayer money spent on repatriation of Haitian illegals be put to better use by stepping up maritime and air patrols to intercept these people before they arrive on South beach shores?
So much for Sandy Bottom and the vaunted Inagua base, more like go pound sand in your ass .
