And while you're at it, perhaps the authorities would also like to investigate the illegal and now permanent sky juice stand that has been erected in the parking lot adjacent to Fort Montague.
Looks like the new and improved fish fry coming to Montague soon.

Why don't you try flogging the dead horse party you have recently saddled yourself with.
If you're skillful enough with the whip you both might just make it to the gate by 2017.

Mr. Mortimer, you are coming across as a used car salesman asking Bahamians to continue to do what they already do so well, that is hang their basket higher than they can reach.

I reiterate; It is an unfortunate fact of life that there will always be haves and have nots and impoverishing one group of people to empower another has, in many countries, proven to be counterproductive. Socialism, including healthcare, may be a very grand and noble concept but the reality of it is as once stated by a wise statesman;

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

I for one know what I'm currently getting for my premiums, and I'm under no illusions about what I'll get for my taxes under a government run NHI.

"You can also go to the extreme of desperation and promise things that are obviously impossible" Minnis may not have crossed this line yet but we sure know who has, don't we Birdie?

Dr. Gomez, the current health system of which you are in charge is pissing away 100 million a year as we write but you think" we are doing very well in getting our institutions ready,” You should give thanks that your strong point is medicine because you obviously have the financial acumen of a hamster.

Mr. Christie once again on the world stage begging bowl in hand.
Rambling on about "growing public and international pressure to adapt to the impacts of climate change" & "the country is also expected to simultaneously “pursue a low carbon pathway and increase energy security,” both of which he said are “expensive and resource-intensive” pursuits.
The only hi carbon producers in this country are BEC, the Jitneys and Christie's mouth.
Referring to the 100 billion per year pledged by the developed countries he said " the Bahamas should be able to access these funds." as if any first world country would give this government access to any funds with their track record. Christie must think the developed world is as backwards as his constituents. And as always whatever results will be part of his ever growing Legacy, he is truly a legend in his own mind.

If the government can't show the business community where and how they have spent the VAT income received to date then business should collectively tell the government that (A) we already have enough toilet paper left over from their previous audits and (B), we 're not paying anymore VAT until they can give an audited accounting for what has already been collected.
What could they do in the face of that sort of solidarity, lock up the entire business community?
Unfortunately, given the pathetically passive nature of our sheeple, it will never happen.
