Their insatiable appetite for our money can't done and won't be satisfied until we're all beggared.
To quote the Beatles,
"Yeah, I'm the taxman, If you drive a car, I'll tax the street, if you try to sit, I'll tax your seat, If you get too cold I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet."
Well one other thing, Pintard and the FNM sure as hell can't make noise anymore about the PLP travelling now that he's hopped on the travelling bandwagon.
I'm sure that King Charles will be overjoyed see His loyal subject Brave again so soon and to make Pintard's acquaintance.
Why don’t the government name it Linton Riggs or Howland Bottomly harbor in honor of those men who actually created the regatta? Not taking anything away from Captain Gray who was a seaman and gentleman of the first order, why not rename Staniel Cay harbor in his honor? Leave Exuma harbor as Elizabeth Harbor and stop this new day nonsense of trying to recreate history by tearing down statues and renaming islands, harbor’s and buildings because you’re uncomfortable with your own history.
Can't wait to hear who the preferred contractor is. @sickened, you are right on, publish the list of contractors invited to bid then publish the amounts tendered by each. Don't tell us, just show us. the PLP never issued a contract that wasn't padded breast, boongie and thigh!
@Maximilianotto, please define those you refer to as desperate and broke, the populous and country at large, or those who sit in power who bargain on our behalf but would barter our heritage for their personal enrichment?
As a well respected statesman once put it; “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings, the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” Such still holds true today.
There are a lot of people in this country who were screwed royally by the Finlaysons and who are surely laughing their asses off watching them squeal for a change, not that anyone believes their story about being financially compromised. All of that money from the sale of Commonwealth Brewery and those pension funds gone south, could they have gone through all of that already? I suppose anything's possible but....................
Why don’t you have @birdie fly away with you? While you’re dazzling the Lords dem she can be baffling the Commons with the commonality of His Majesties Loyal Bahamian subjects.
Mr. Thompson, your closing sentence "We Served with Honour. We Remember with Pride." is very appropriate written in the past tense, nothing but a fond memory of what the RBPF once was and stood for.
