Most Bahamians are too young to remember Jamaica's horrible era when most Jamaicans had to do without essential items like toilet paper, soap, toothpaste and so on. And too many Bahamians today cannot even point to Venezuela on a map of the world let alone understand the plight of the Venezuelan people in their failed state.
Truth be told, most Bahamians deep down don't think The Bahamas or any of our other Caribbean neighbours could ever become the next failed state in the western hemisphere, i.e. another Haiti or Venezuela. But the great chasm that presently exists between the "haves" and the "have nots" in The Bahamas is about to get a whole lot wider and deeper than we could ever have imagined. Brace yourself!
And that perfect storm is going to get a whole lot worse for The Bahamas as the Red Chinese government continues to go about pulling the rug out from under the feet of the US government with the help of the very greedy, corrupt and treasonous US politicians and US corporate leaders that they have 'bought' and now own.
> James Smith, former minister of state for finance in the first Christie administration, told Tribune Business that the Davis administration’s plan to slash the VAT rate from 12 percent to 10 percent “demands” economic modelling and analysis before it is implemented to ensure there are no “unintended consequences”.
Rubbish! Davis did not make his election campaign promise to reduce VAT from 12% to 10% conditional on any economic modelling and analysis. And we certainly don't remember the very sleazy James Smith ever giving a rat's fart about our country's finances while he was minister of state for finance, or when he was governor of the Central Bank for that matter. Back then Smith played an instrumental part in helping pave the wrong road that has led to our country's financial demise.
Smith is therefore the last person Davis should lend an ear to. Davis would be wise to dimiss whatever Smith has to say as irrelevant background noise coming from a dinosaur who would have long ago been extinct were it not for his Greek master continuing to think he is somehow still a useful political tool whenever the PLP have control of government.

Someone tell Rochelle Newbold that we will have long been wiped-out by COVID-666 before the next great hurricane like Dorian comes our way.
Red China, which is responsible for over two-thirds of the total annual pollution killing our planet, no longer has to rely on climate changes arising from their pollutants to snuff us all out. They can simply unleash on us the mother-of-all bio-engineered viruses they have no doubt created by now, i.e. COVID-666. And if COVID-666 doesn't kill us, we can be rest assured the vaccine for it will do so. My oh my, please say it ain't so!
